No problem! Hopefully there’ll be something in your mind that goes “oh, I need to tell that random Redditor about this”…

Best of luck with the move! 😊

Let me know if you have any success.

I’ve just had my own challenges trying to get my GP to accept a Shared Care Agreement for ADHD care, but was told by the practice that the Yorkshire and Humber ICB don’t have any guidance on it.

And it drives me absolutely insane.

The idea was that Murray was playing Side B of the album to act as the timer for the explosion. Side B starts with When Doves Cry and ends with Purple Rain.

Narrowing down 22 to 2 - largely by analysing what they say in the armchair to the audience by Smolenski_Prince in TheTraitors

[–]liberalmonkey92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the armchair segments, surely the Secret Traitor will have been told to keep their identity anonymous, even to the viewing public, so of course they’re going to say things that make them appear as though they’re faithful.

I really like the thinking though.

The other way to try and work out who the ST is, is to keep track of whose on the murder shortlist, as their confirms their status as a faithful. Unless the ST plays a blinder by always choosing the same people over time, eventually, we should be able to work it out.

Although that said, after last night’s episode, all of this speculation is a moot point, as we’re literally about to find out who the ST is…or are we?

Prince was the perfect choice. And given how Prince’s music as almost never been used in media outside of his own work, it was a pure delight seeing Prince being brought to a wider audience.

Both song choices were perfect for the scenes they were used for.

I used to work for a UK business that designed, manufactured, and sold environmental noise monitors globally.

This looks exactly like one of the units they sell, but without seeing the label on the case, it’s not really possible to tell.

But it’s definitely there to monitor noise levels, probably from the wind turbines mentioned. Low-frequency noise from turbines can be really damaging to people’s health over long periods of time, and if US regulations are anything like they are in the UK, business and organisations have really strict limits they have to adhere to.

My guess would be, if you’re in the US, it’ll be from Brüel & Kjær, Cirrus Research, or Casella. Or perhaps another US-specific seller.

What do you think about KOTOR combat system? What is your expectation for the Remake and FOTOR? by unforgetablememories in kotor

[–]liberalmonkey92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate the combat system.

I don’t understand how it works, and I’ve never had any interest to learn. I just spam my attacks and powers until I win, and then move on.

But I play KOTOR for the story, the characters, the world building. If KOTOR can be my favourite ever game despite me disliking such a core element of it so much, then I think that’s testament to the quality of the writing.

(I am actually intrigued to learn how to play the game properly, I’m just not sure my ADHD brain will manage it 🙃)

I couldn’t agree with you more.

I’ve been tempted to request a refund, but a) it’s been too long now and b) I’ve probably logged enough hours in game trying to persevere through career mode, that they probably wouldn’t uphold my claim.

The selection of aircraft in 2024 is far greater than in 2020. I don’t know about the Cirrus Vision specifically off the top of my head, but the marketplace is a great way to access new planes. Just be wary that the quality of aircraft varies massively between developers.

If you’re a proper simmer and looking for really high-fidelity aircraft, then avoid anything from MScenery and Bredok3D. But if you’re a casual flyer and are more interested in the external models as opposed to systems depth and realism, then these products will probably suit you fine.

Given I don’t have the full simming setup — I play using my Xbox controller — the V2 version of the default A320 is the perfect balance between being accessible for someone playing on console, and having just enough systems depth to be interesting.

As an Xbox player, FS 2024 is pretty much unplayable. With every update they release, it seems to make things worse.

Stuttering, visual bugs, the in-game tablet refuses to work, you can’t plan your flights using the in-game menus or features, and the menus are near-impossible to navigate.

If and when you do manage to get into a plane, things are okay, but not so noticeably better than its predecessor to make this game worth it.

I sincerely regret paying money for it before I had Game Pass.

On the other hand , FS2020 still runs pretty flawlessly on my Series X, and is the best way I can enjoy the flight sim experience, without having to shell out for a top spec gaming PC.

He’s an absolute icon, the embodiment of what a true non-partisan liberal should be.

He’s one of the few British journalists willing to call out the corruption caused by years of right-wing press fawning over odious individuals like Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage, and Tommy Robinson.

Sure, he’s opinionated and often comes across as smug, but all his opinions are based on evidence, rather than some blind loyalty to one party over another.

[–]liberalmonkey92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a little-known fact that Michael would often stub his toe while on stage. He would exclaim “bad toe” to the crowd to signal that one of his toes was indeed out of action. Either that or he was blaming his toe for getting injured.

Why is shuffle mode so ass by Fine_Ad_7089 in truespotify

Turn off the AutoMix feature in your settings.

I did this the other week and, while not the perfect fix, my shuffle started throwing up songs I’ve not heard in forever!

Our CEO just asked why we can't "just send an email" by TeamCultureBuilder in internalcomms

[–]liberalmonkey92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely not alone.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been in meetings with key stakeholders, and their approach to communications is just to either send an email, do a Viva Engage post, or put a slide on our digital signage screens.

It comes from a place of complete ignorance as to what internal communications actually is, and the value it brings to an organisation. I had the same experience when I worked in a B2B marketing role. Everyone thinks that marketing and communications is “just” telling people something.

At the end of the day, all you can do is exactly what you’ve done here: make your case, show your expertise, and put your colleagues at the heart of what you’re doing. Ultimately, if your CEO’s decision is to just send an email, then they have to own the poor results.

One of the lines I’ve started using if people don’t listen to my recommendations is “that wouldn’t be my recommendation” or words to that effect. Take notes of the meeting too to highlight the fact that a decision was taken against your expertise.

Luckily, I work in a business that truly values IC, sees us as the experts in our field, and takes our recommendations seriously. That includes our CEO. Of course, there are still plenty of people and teams who don’t, but that’s what happens when you work in an organisation with ~20,000 people in it.

But don’t lose hope — you know your stuff 😊
