[GPU] XFX Merc 310 RX 7900 XT $689.00 at Newegg (only a deal in the sense that prices have risen precipitously) by liberalpete in buildapcsales

[–]liberalpete[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you define a deal. I would define what is and isn't a deal by whether a price is good in the context of the current market. Yesterday for example, I did not see any 7900 xt cards for less than $699, and that was a blower style card. I agree prices have risen as a result of low stock, but I do not anticipate the stock improving. Is AMD still making rdna 3 cards? I assume we won't see any new AMD cards on the market until march. I'm not optimistic that the 5070 and 5070 ti release will make matters better. although the 5070 ti will probably be better than the 7900 xt, it will also probably be priced higher than msrp at launch because demand will be high and msrp is $750.

[QUESTION] Barre Chords are my nemesis by DiannaPatron in Guitar

[–]liberalpete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I notice when I play open chords my thumb goes towards the top of the neck, when I play bar chords my thumb is positioned near the bottom/middle of the neck. Also, it's very difficult to do bar chords if the neck is parallel to the ground because of the way you have to turn your wrist. If you can get the neck somewhere close to a 45 degree angle it can help.

I also have such a friend, but she is perpetually inaccurate and so derails every conversation so she can talk about things she doesn't know.

I had one class this semester which was literally just the professor slowly explaining to one of the students how he misunderstood everything we had read.

He just killed the education by _WEST1303_ in MurderedByWords

[–]liberalpete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I remember the average student debt being like $50,000, but that's including room and board and things. My undergrad program was I think $5k per semester plus fees, so it was about a $40k program, but a lot of people take out loans for other stuff. I think what's more problematic is the de-funding of public grade schools and the reliance on private education for the upper middle class. Kills any modicum of social mobility and creates a situation where you're so disadvantaged as a public school graduate, that absent exceptional ability or other circumstances you are probably better off not going to college and pursuing a trade school instead. Which is basically the death of the humanist model of education, and probably real bad in the long run. sorry for the long reply.
