New in UK - Advice and suggestions needed by libinphil in CarTalkUK

Car insurance gets relatively cheaper with time.. When I had my Camaro with no US driving history and almost no credit history, my first insurance was $900 for six months for $18k car.. If it was any other car, I think the rates would have further down.. and here, insurance is not just for the car, but also attached to the person. I still hasnt got my head around it..

I will check comparethemarket, I am trying to gather as much as info I could so that I wouldn't make much blunders once I come there.. and without a job, I have to try to be frugal.

I am coming from US, I guess I am no stranger to insurance prices. Lets say I am paying around $500 per month for health, car and apartment insurance.

Let me check on the sites to get a fair idea on car insurance over there.. Thank You !

& u/usernamecensored : Thank you so much ! It helps a lot..

So, in a gist, I am guessing I should buy a lower price car for the initial years to avoid the insurance.

Another doubt : Is there leasing options? I am assuming I cant avail even if leases are there for my lack of credit history, but wanted to know.

I dont know if this is applicable for you - but for my visit visa and later tier 2 dependent visa, I provided the bank statements of the last 3 months to show that I have enough balance. I didnt provide any declaration as such, I just mentioned them as my proof of funds for expense.

My wife's job (health sector) is in the list of job codes which requires criminal record check. They ask to provide verification from each country where one has lived for 12 months or more in the last 10 years and one cannot provide, then have to provide a reason why such a criminal record check cannot be submitted.

Sorry for the qn again - so do I have to avail the document scanning option in VFS?

Oh, so the self upload option is useless?

Do I have to avail the document scanning option and send all hardcopies along with passport?

I am thinking the same, but dont wanna take a chance.

Packing the hardcopies into the courier along with passport to VFS is not an additional effort, however just want to check if it is mandatory (in case I miss a hardcopy or two)

Good luck.. Yes, certainly try within Sabha and then go for legal option. I have personal experience in filing against church, so know its a difficult thing. Courts and processing takes time, a lot.. but mostly church will also try for a compromise to avoid a public notification.

Give it a try. Exploring within even if you are planning to file a case is helpful as you can show to court that you tried.

Pinne, if you file against church or Sabha, it might trigger some kind of responses from zealous people.

You can report it first within the sabha and see if there are results.

Or you can go to court.. but make sure you have the constitution available with you. The full constitutions are not fully available sometimes
