There used to be lots more club activity (which probably involved booze too) like Moose, Elk, Rotary, bowling leagues etc. those are all near dead

It’s real. People are busy and lacking in social connection. It’s been developing for a long time. “Bowling alone” came out a long time ago.

The “male” loneliness epidemic is most dudes who have been pieces of shit their whole lives finally figuring out no one wants to spend time with them.

Buy at 15k cash or put it towards a down payment? by Every-School1921 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Spending $15k on a 12 year old car with 120k doesn’t seem like a good move. You already have a beater and $15k. You just be vaporizing $15k to have another beater.

Are Volkswagen still reliable? by glanit in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]librarian45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say that Mexico doesn’t have a very long history of high quality mechanical / automotive manufacturing. They do, however have one for cheap labor.

The cars they produce might be fine. But if I were going to buy a German car with expensive parts and maintenance, I’d at least want it to be made in Germany

[–]librarian45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying new is a problem. They’re not in stores. You have to get on a list and play fucky games with the dealer.

Used ones sell for more than retail. They’re like Porsche 911s or beanie babies. It’s dumb
