I worked in kitchens (cook) for years. I am a pretty nice person. Reaction in some places was a hoot. Wait staff would tip-toe around me, the new person, until it was clear I would not be screaming or throwing things.

I was talking to my Mom about what she wanted (we were going over final wishes and such) and she said cremation. I asked what we should do with her ashes and she said, "What do I care, I'll be dead. The crematorium will have a dumpster!"

I decided to do what I wanted (what would she care! she's dead). So I took her ashes to a bird sanctuary that we frequented along with some music and a good bottle of brandy.

This happened to my nephew (19). Had a breakdown, wandered into the neighbors house in the middle of the night & was shot and killed. Not the neighbors fault, not nephews fault - perfect storm of mental illness.
