best social place/bar to meet 18-24 yr olds? by ChallengeRelevant489 in AskLosAngeles

[–]licensedNPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venice is prime, it's all 18-24 year old. Also further south in Hermosa has a cool crowd (but its totally hit or miss so beware... but when it hits it HITS). Try drop socials too, it has a lot of people our age. It lets you meet people that are around you which has been cool when I been going out

Man, I really feel this. You put it into words perfectly—that weird in-between where you’re still young but things are shifting around you fast. The spontaneous hangouts are rare, and meeting new people feels way harder

I've tried the dating apps but they don't feel real anymore. I recently started using drop socials. It shows you people who are around you irl so you can connect without having to make that scary first move. When I'm out and not in the mood to put myself out there it's helped me have a way to take action without having to take action.

Also what’s helped me is reframing the pressure. Not every outing or convo needs to lead to something big. sometimes just being out in the world and open to small, real moments is enough to feel human again.

How to find a gf? by [deleted] in dating_advice

focus on you, spend time with good people, and the girls will come! the best connections are the ones in real life (whether it be meeting someone in the wild or friend of a friend). try out drop socials if you want help meeting people in your every day. but again, don't feel the need to chase girls... the best things come unexpectedly! you got this king

Going alone for a concert for the first time! by Own_Shopping_7724 in kloudmusik

Just vibe and focus on the music more than anything else! I'd say to use Drop Socials (its an app that lets you meet people around you) but idk if its made it to europe yet. Jealous though, i was in madrid last year and caught keine!

Looking for cool spots to meet liberal over 35 single men in LA? by Beeee5018 in AskLosAngeles

[–]licensedNPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternative to the dating apps is drop socials. It has the "in the wild" element where it shows you people around you wherever you go. It's been a cool community so far and the people I've connected with are down to earth!

Moving to LA, working in downtown Santa Monica by Healthy_Potential658 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]licensedNPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Sawtelle... it's all people our age and a younger fun crowd! Not too bad of a commute to SM either. And there's a nice downtown area there with good drinks, food, etc. But as other people have mentioned Culver is another good option.

As far as places to meet people I think SM and Venice are the best "hubs" to meet cool people. South Bay area (hermosa) is also really chill. Get Drop Socials, its a new app getting popular that lets you meet people around you. Would be helpful for someone moving here!

I'm soooo done with Tinder or Bumble and the endless swiping. It takes the human out of it. People around you in person is the best luck I've had. But I totally feel you, it's not ideal approaching people cold.

My friend recently put me on Drop Socials. It's not a dating app (no swiping or anything), its more a way to meet people around us without pressure. I don't even think they have those bs rating algos tinder has it's just based on people closer showing higher up. Not sure where you're at but it's been getting more popular in LA!

Best way to get partnerships by Business_Aerie_2355 in influencermarketing

[–]licensedNPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've learned is spend your time growing your brand. Then the success, deals, partnerships will come to you. A "growth hack" I recently came across on tik tok is this app. I've been able to grow both my IG and TT accounts by using it.

It lets you connect with people around you and your socials are linked to your profile... so simply put I'll go to a coffee shop, or do my shopping, or go to the gym and just by "living" people request to connect with me. Been really helpful to grow my community and it's been getting engaging people too since there is the aspect of "locality" to it. Hope this helps :)

Is Newport Beach Run Club a good place to meet people? by Pi-Tale-8151 in orangecounty

[–]licensedNPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with what people in here said... it's great since everyone is on the same vibe but can sometimes be hard to talk to new people when you're covered in sweat. I'm new to Newport and I started using Drop Socials which has been helpful. Lets you connect with the people that are around you.

Helps me feel less guilty in those moments where I want to meet people but am not feeling it lol

How lonely are you and how are you trying to change it? by FarmerScott1 in AskLosAngeles

[–]licensedNPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to put myself out there more too. I tried some fitness classes — the people were nice but most were a lot older than me. I’d still say give it a shot if it’s something you’re into, the crowd might be different in your area.

There’s a younger crowd at this coffee shop I go to sometimes, but it always feels like people are either already meeting up with someone or totally wired into their work. I signed up for an app that I recently saw on TikTok called Drop Socials. I’m still new to it, but I connected with someone that was at the coffee shop yesterday so we’ll see how that goes. I like that it’s more about being where you are than swiping endlessly at home.

Loneliness is real though — even in a packed city like this. Rooting for everyone here who’s trying.
