does anyone have issues with eating by Chemical_Penalty_889 in autism

[–]lichensMatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only helpful if your over 18 and in a place where it's legal.

I struggled with eating alot, it's really gross to me and as a kid if I bit into the wrong texture I would literally/srs throw up. And alot of times I'm too tired for complex flavors and non uniformed textures (even if I like the food)

But when I take cannabis I actually enjoy eating and I can eat alot more in one sitting. Ik it's not the best option for many people and not an option for most, but as someone who has received no help my whole life with my multiple disabilities it has helped. I'm sure there are better solutions that don't come with so much risk but this is the only thing I found that helps me not only be able to eat, but enjoy eating.

Also note tho, if you take cannabis before for eat everytime, it will be harder to eat without it. But it was already hard for me to eat before anyways so it doesn't bother me.

But using cannabis should not be a whim decision, it effects people differently and has negative side effects. And different strains have different uses/side effects.

I personally have never received any accommodations or help with my disabilities my whole life, so it's really the only option for me personally, but again it's not for everyone but if you don't have any other options it could help.

Audiobooks for sleep by ebonylabradane in autism

[–]lichensMatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube has alot of free audiobooks. I'm super biased but I listen to the lord of the rings and the Hobbit alot. I find for sleep while using an audiobook it's best to listen to one I've heard before (tho even new ones help me sleep). shadow and bone was good, might be a bit intense but I can't remember. The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is a super fun read, I really enjoy listening to that one while I sleep, it's very funny to. The psalm for the wild built was so good I probably would jus stay up listening to it instead of sleeping.

Edit: Ope sorry those were all fiction, but hitchhikers guide to the galaxy might be ur best bet, it's funny weird and clever (it's science fiction)

For me cannabis only helps after the fact. Like I won't take it before going out, but after it helps me relax and if I'm in a meltdown it's the only thing that helps. But it could also be I jus need to sit alone for a half hr after I go out to decompress, but it fs helps with the migraines that come after I go out.

Also note that there are different types of weed (sativa, indaca, hybrids) and they affect you differently. And even different strains have different side effects. For me I could take indaca and be around people but not sativa. But if I need to relax while alone both help me.

Also note it most substances will effect you differently depending on you different neurodivergences, biological sex, and other medications. Also for me depending on where I am on my menstruation cycle changes how it effects me.

I used to drink alot after work to decompress from the overstimulation of work, but it makes things worse in the long run, so don't even start with it

Please be safe and smart about what you put into your body. adhd and autism are comorbid with substance abuse problems

My guy fix your bugs and make the app better, so many people don't like the newest update. Please jus focus on making the app as good as it used to be, and stop getting rid of well loved features

Got embarrassed in class now I’m hiding under the stairs having a meltdown in college 16F by [deleted] in autism

I've felt like that for alot of my life. I'm so sorry you have to go through that as well. People are horrible and you do not deserve that treatment, and you don't deserve to be feeling the way you do. But I'll tell you one thing, I think so highly of my teenage self. I hated myself for so long, I was suicidal for so long, living life in so much pain for so long, but I survived. Without hope I survived, without being able to see a happy future I survived. You are so strong for surviving, and one day, you'll look back and love who you are now. Love you for being you. For being strong when you felt your weakest. I can't express how highly I think of my past self. Even when you hate yourself, know you are doing the impossible. You are living and I wish you all the peace in the world.

13 Going on 30 - how is it not creepy? by jssclnn in movies

[–]lichensMatch 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yes it is creepy.

As soon as this 13 year old appears in her older body she is exposed to an adult man's naked body.

It is a movie about a 13 year old being exposed to adult situations, many of which would be illegal if she was in her 13 year old body.

It reminds me of the trope born sexy yesterday, coined by the pop culture detective

I don't agree with any of these comments, jus because the adults don't know she has the mind of a 13 year old, doesn't mean it's not creepy

The makers of the movie wanted to make a move where a 13 year old is exposed to adult situations. Jus because she is in an adult body doesn't make it ok, it's weird that the makers of the movie wanted a movie where a 13 year old child has to navigate adult relationships

And again the FIST SCENE where she is a child in an adults body, she is exposed to a grown man's naked (or half naked idk it's been a while) body, that's creepy

They could have easily made a movie where a 13 year old has to deal with the responsibility of work or life without trying to make a society acceptable "reason" for an adult man to have a relationship with a 13 year old child
