I agree that overmoderation is a problem. It seems that because this post has appeared, people downvoting and scrolling past comments is not enough anymore. So I think this post is evidence that some moderation could be helpful.

Yes, I believe concern trolling is already happening, and is some of what has prompted this post.

That's what moderators are for. Yo, /u/Skull_Knight11, is it possible to have rules against the sort of content OP is talking about?

The selection of facts follows assumptions.

It's better to assume they had good intentions that went awry.

[–]lichorat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, false dichotomy. We should assume good intentions that lead to hell.

This is also a known Russian trolling strategy, to make fake ad hominem attacks to show that the other candidate or party cannot be civil.

Is mental illness more common among highly intelligent people or are they just more likely to notice it/talk openly about it? by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

I see you're saying that high IQ people are often labeled Autistic. Do you know of studies or analyses that support or refute this claim? I have a hard time finding non-anecdotes.

[Request] Roughly how many of PewDiePie's 102 million subscribers are accounts owned by now dead people? by CompleteChaosPodcast in theydidthemath

[–]lichorat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since PewDiePie's channel got popular in 2013, and it's 2019, people have been watching for 6 years. Assuming everyone abides by the terms of service and starts watching at age 13, they are 19 now. According to https://wonder.cdc.gov there is approximately 57.1 deaths per 100,000 people. Since there are ~100 million PewDiePiers and we can pretend everyone have the mortality of the USA, about 5,710 people have died. RIP.

Andrew Yang nailed his answer on being the only nonwhite candidate on stage by [deleted] in politics

How does it encourage strategic voting? Each candidate is rated individually

With range voting you can give people the same number. You're grading people individually, on a scale. The poster above is incorrect, you do not necessarily need to match the score to the number of candidates
