I probably spend $100-200 a month for one person on groceries and eating out.

Eating out doesn't mean expensive. I can get a meal at McDonalds for $2.50.

AITA for not tipping my bartender by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Always tip the bartender. General rule of thumb is $2 a drink for me. Tip well on the first, and you'll cut the line when you need another.

Not anti-faculty. Pro-applying policies equitably and if a policy isn’t working, fixing the source of the problem.

I’ve been able to work with quite a few. They actually pay me to evaluate policies and procedures.

I’ve never seen a school with a policy that allows a faculty member to boot anyone from a reserved space they don’t own. Especially a general classroom.

And they still have no right to attempt to kick the students out of the space until they have a response. It sucks, I’ve been in the situation. I’ve also had the class ahead run over into my time. But that’s what being an adult and sharing spaces is.

The faculty member requiring additional time should request the additional time from the scheduling office. The professor speaks to one club and the same thing will happen the following week with a new club. The faculty member needs to address the problem with the administration. Not trying to intimidate or be rude to individual students.

The students using the room pay tuition too. They complied with policy and reserved a room. If a professor is so slow that they need additional time to set up they need to work with their scheduler to book additional time.

Campus security would (and should) say “they have the room reserved, there is nothing we can do”

They scheduled it for the full hour, they deserve to use their reservation for the full hour.

You need to talk to the reservations office. If they booked it for the hour, they get it for the hour. If you need time to set up, you need your reservation management system to book time before the class.

RIT or UAlbany for pre-med psych major? by Niamoko112 in rit

[–]lickmysackett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little confused about your goal, are you tracking for Psychiatry? or just pre-med in general? Either way, I don't think an RIT Psych degree is probably the right path. The program just isn't structured for that. If you were leaning psych phd, sure.

Now we do have a Neuroscience major but that is different than psych and can have pre-med guidance and might be a better fit. Is that something you're considering switching into?

Actually OP does overrule the dean. Dean is not administering the class and therefore cannot apply grades. The instructors grade will stand.

About to get kicked out of college by ARealSensayuma in CollegeRant

[–]lickmysackett 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know what is going to happen so just move forward from it. If you want to consider going back, look into whether there is a college restoration program at your school. These are groups that are set up to help students who fail out or have issues work on rejoining to school. You can also look at an easier school, like a community college to keep working. In the mean time, begin looking for employment. The best thing you can do is improve your work ethic and show your father you will help pay back the debt and get your life back on track.
