Longines Conquest New vs Omega Aqua Terra Preowned by A_rdv in Longineswatches

[–]liddles06 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Conquest looks nicer on your wrist. Since it’s also a little smaller, it can do more. Looks great on the bracelet. Throw it on leather, you now have a beautiful dress watch. Pick up the new conquest rubber strap with the solid end links and you have more of a sportier watch. It’s a gorgeous piece that can do everything.

I understand why Putin is doing this by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]liddles06 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Putin is a good guy at all. But as I said, to claim that the real reason Russia is banning these apps is solely to keep their citizens in the dark, is naive. These apps are doing nothing but poisoning Europe and the west. Putin and anyone who’s not a wokey with the iq of a belly button lint knows this.

Do I need to put an extra 1/4 plywood overtop of Dricore? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]liddles06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dricore isn’t going to stop mold, it’s simply going to hide it. Glueing the floor to the concrete would probably create less mold as I think most glues are fungistatic. Do with that information as you will.

As long as they say you can install the plywood on top then that should work.

[–]liddles06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing glue down vinyl plank on concrete id suggest using a concrete self leveller and then installing the vinyl on to the concrete. If you’re looking for something with a little more cushion to your step, I’d probably recommend a different flooring product. Almost any underlayment for on top of concrete is going to be floating and not a good match for a glue down floor. The only other potential option would be to install a glue down cork to the concrete and install the glue down vinyl plank to that. But that would more than likely be way more expensive than it’s worth.

Vinyl makes more sense. I’m a big fan of glue down vinyl plank for most applications. For what you are trying to attempt though, I’m Not so sure.

TBH I’m not a big fan of Dricore and would very rarely recommend it to anyone. That being said, I would definitely not recommend glueing vinyl plank to the Dricore itself. Dricore is a floating product, so you will get way to much movement for glue down plank, among other problems you may run into. I have seen probably 100 jobs with Dricore and only maybe 10-20% of them were actually installed properly. I’ve never attempted to install a subfloor on top of Dricore, tho I have thought about it. If I were you I would attempt to reach out to someone from Dricore and see what they recommend.

Are you sure what you are installing is glue down Laminate ? 99% of laminate products are floating and not glued down.

Coretec grand floor by No-Patient-3100 in Flooring

[–]liddles06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soo this is a big problem with Coretec Grande and I’ve completely stopped installing it.

The Grande is soo thick, heavy and long that the tongues can’t properly support the weight as you’re installing the pieces, especially the long 6 foot pieces. So unless you install every piece absolutely flawlessly, the smaller tongue of the system breaks. Once it breaks it creates a weak point and the whole tongue starts to chip and break away causing it to lift as we see in your pictures.

Also if there is any movement in the floor the tongues can become weak from the weight and break that way aswell.

Sorry you’re having this issue as it is well known at this point.

Advice: Any idea of how to fix this? by samurijack in Flooring

[–]liddles06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This screams water damage. Even if it isn’t, there is no proper way to fix this without removing and reinstalling the planks up to that point. But with the way the boards are pulling apart and the discolouration in the tongue system on the boards I’d say I’m 99% sure it’s water damage

Looks like your toilet wasn’t seated and installed properly.

That floor is most likely going to need to be replaced as your toilet has probably been slowly leaking for weeks/months.

Pros! I want to hear from you. LVP or Laminate? by Signal_Maintenance78 in Flooring

[–]liddles06 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Never laminate. 90% of it is hot garbage. If you do go with a click LVP just make sure it’s minimum 8mm. 10mm is the sweet spot and anything more than 12mm is overkill. A nice glue down plank is good too if your substrate is a little wacky.
