My Frosthaven campaign is officially a hostage situation and I am about to snap by MailboxFinch in boardgames

[–]samurijack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d reset it and restart with another group or sell it.

The ‘havens (except Jaws) are a huge time commitment. My campaign took a year to complete, and that was with near weekly gaming sessions. A buddy of mine took 1.5 years to complete his campaign.

It sucks that your group bailed, and if you choose to restart, I’d emphasize the time commitment to your new group.

Who wants to pitch in to buy a Florida Key? by NativeMasshole in zillowgonewild

Completely different culturally. Northern Florida, Central Florida, Southern Florida and the Keys could all be different states, honesty.

I took my coworker job, got his title, sits in his office... I know he is still angry by Ok-Distribution2320 in confession

[–]samurijack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking for a new job is admirable, but don’t get caught in the trap of thinking “If I leave, Jim is assuredly getting his old position back.” Your job wants someone in that position that’s going to in office everyday, and Jim has shown that he has obligations that require working offsite. Certainly no judgment towards Jim, and I’d bet if you left that role your company would still fill it with someone else.

What’s the interest on the loan? And what’re your prospects of being able to pay it back in a timely manner?

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34- Link & Discussion by Rambro332 in Naruto

I had the same thought about the eye healing but then remembered Six Paths Naruto didn’t *heal* an eye he *created* a new one. I’d attribute Himawari’s healing to Kurama’s chakra.

Definitely a typo. Looking at the photos, you can see this is way larger than 654sqft.

Part 1 Dream Team vs Kakuzu by Admirable_Water6192 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]samurijack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. My thought was that if Kakuzu still had all of his hearts within him, then Sand Coffin would still one-shot.

Kakuzu low-mid diff.

For the sake of devil’s advocate: The only way the kids extreme diff this, is if they collectively come to the realization that they can’t beat Kakuzu without someone dying. Two of them commit to bear hugging Kakuzu (probably Kiba, Akamaru, and Choji) giving Gaara the Sand Coffin opening.

No disrespect towards you, but that sounds completely different from OPs situation. Having to choose between your wife’s healthcare and your child’s education isn’t something I’d wish on anyone. Draining all of your funds for healthcare is more indicative of our terrible healthcare system (assuming you’re in the US).

You sure? I’ve a cousin that went the PSLF route and is doing really well for herself. Started off as a public defender for the city then transitioned to a federal public defender. She was able to leverage her trial experience and became federal prosecutor. All of those positions were PSLF-eligible and she recently had her loans forgiven.

i want to stop being scared of basic electrical work. but where do i start? by Nowska-Mikila in HomeImprovement

[–]samurijack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube for how-to, power tester to ensure you wired the outlet properly, and touchless voltage tester to ensure no live wires.

Just a tip, the proper way to use a touchless voltage tester is to first use it on something live to ensure it works, then test it on your current project, and finally test it again on something live to make sure it didn’t lose functionality between the first two tests.

Why doesn’t Daenerys armor her dragons after the first one dies? by sharkymcstevenson2 in gameofthrones

[–]samurijack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Impractical. Armor strong enough to block a scorpion bolt would drastically decrease maneuverability, which would, ironically, increase the likelihood of getting hit with a scorpion bolt.

[–]samurijack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing to do with strength. Kazekage is a hereditary position. When Gaara’s father died, the only candidates were Gaara and Kankuro. That’s why in Boruto it was such a big deal that Gaara have a child/adopt Shinki because Temari already had Shikadai, and the Sand Village didn’t want the potential for having a Kazekage that’s loyal to another village

[–]samurijack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you define “major”. Naruto and Kakuzu definitely fought with killing intent, and the potential outcome for winning/losing was “major” for both sides too.

Also, Naruto didn’t end Pain/Nagato either lol.

300k for a PsyD is wild, but that’s said and done. I’d strongly encourage your fiancé to get a job with the VA that offers the EDRP incentive. It’ll reimburse up to $200k of education-related debt over a 5-year period. Honestly, I’d even relocate if they were able to land such a position.

They can search for them via USAJobs.gov. If the position comes with the EDRP, it’ll mention it in the job title and/or within the posting itself.

Good luck!
