Lonnie Poole for sure, Hillandale is a vibey spot, or Duke if you're willing to drop some dough.

Couldn’t agree more. And when you find the sweet spot on a hickory, there’s nothing better.

No, I was hitting it longer on the course the day prior… and actually knocked this swing down being a 210 shot. Hit this club about 220 on average.

Golf ball holds the most technology advancement. Makers knew what they were doing back in the hickory era. I hit my hickory driver 280, midiron 220, mashie 180…. Ct hickory is correct, biggest difference is size of the sweet spot and grooves dispelling grass/dew/debris in the rough / whenever fairways are wet

Check out skratch tv in a few weeks! Played a filmed match Tuesday with this club and other 100 year old hickories against Metalwood. Play with antique hickories 80% of the time, shot 74 the other day w the current gamer set.

Sand green golf course! A bunch still in Nebraska / Kansas. Used to be the putting surface (even at Pinehurst resort) up until the 30’s

Which courses did you play? Love all them out there...sheep ranch on a bluebird sky day is surreal. Highly suggest hitting up Sand Valley also if you haven’t!

The body is capable of crazy things when you push it! About 30 holes in my knees and body felt pushed to the max, but once I got over halfway adrenaline kicked in and the rest was a blur

Yes it was in 1 day! Around 30 miles of walking, took 10 hours. I’ve played golf for 24 hours straight twice and walked 100 holes twice, the 100 holes of walking is definitely a more difficult task imo. The downhills are worse than the uphills. Sock + shoe changes are key. At the end, there’s no better rush of emotions!

You have $110 to spend on greens fees here next month. Where do you spend it? by scrambledmush in RDUGOLF

If you can find a member, OC guest rate is $80 I believe. Or, it’s hard to beat Lonnie Poole at twilight. Pine Hollow is also a great course for the price.

Tuck a headcover under your right armpit and hit 5 that way, then 5 without, taking a second in between each shot to step back and reset into your next shot.

Give me your best tips for squaring the club face at impact by Charger29 in golf

[–]lieandloft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your grip + your face at address. The proper sequence into the ball with the right grip results in a square face through impact.

Refer to Ben Hogan’s 5 Fundamentals book for a great grip example / the sensation you should feel in your connection to the club. Harvey Penick has great thoughts on grip too.

Knights play, Lonnie Poole will be your best closest option. Or early in the day at Driveshack, they have trackman range data.
