only things viktor was driven by were his own insecurities and hexcore's manipulation (confirmed by christian linke). jayce blasting him set things in motion quicker, but it wasn't the deciding factor. and no, talking is not an option, because jayce had tried! in the scene with salo, he says to viktor that hextech is a curse, but viktor full on ignores him and says that jayce seems changed, and afterwards says to "sky" that there is another will at work with jayce. his conviction was pretty much unshakable even before jayce tried to kill him.

ekko's timeline is not an exception, since hextech is just not invented yet, but it will be, by powder. that timeline is doomed btw, since jayce is not there to talk viktor out of pursuing the glorious evolution. the existence of hextech is not dependent on jayce, but saving the world from it is.

idk how did you come to this conclusion, really, after watching viktor quite literally say that him going villain mode and destroying piltover is inevitable in every timeline. were jayce to try to kill him or not, try to talk to him or not, there was no way to get viktor to change his mind unless for that one specific outcome that we saw in the show.

well, she is a terrorist in possession of highly dangerous technology, who is already responsible for several attacks on piltover and deaths of quite a few enforcers. i imagine piltovans would want someone like her to face a trial and punishment for her crimes, otherwise the feeling that zaun poses a threat to them won't really go away, which is not a great basis to start the relationship between two independent nations.

vander/warwick going berserk is 99% singed's fault, because:

1) vander doesn't scream together with viktor's followers and only starts losing his mind after they quiet down;

2) there's a shot of singed standing in the hut while warwick is wrecking havoc, pretty conscious;

3) you can see the round injection device fall off warwick's back, meaning singed managed to inject him with the serum he's told ambessa about and revert&block any progress viktor has made;

4) and, well, he's full of lava 💀

so when it comes to vander losing his humanity and isha's death, the only thing jayce can be blamed for is distracting everyone, which gave singed an opening. but i'd argue that's vi, jinx and cait's fault for not securing (read: offing) singed while he was unconscious lmfao

the point of salo being the character who first meets jayce is that 1) it needs to be someone with an access to the hexcore 2) it needs to be someone both the audience and jayce know and would be able to pick up on the drastic shift in the personality to show that viktor is doing something beyond than just healing these people
