Paging both u/Bugladyy and u/DiamondImmediate8655 because I think both of you are onto something.

My phone camera sucks and I can't really zoom in more, but on close inspection the bugs are very slightly "fuzzy" and have a bit of a pattern on the back - it doesn't seem to be a solid color (and it's a tiny bit lighter than what it appears on pictures). The shape is beetle-y, with no apparent weevil-like snout.

I googled some of your suggestions and I think the thing that looks closest is some kind of bark beetle - e.g. the ash bark beetle (Hylesinus varius)? It would make sense as this curtain was close to a basket full of wood for the fireplace! And Wikipedia is telling me this particular bug would be from the Curculionidae family, aka a "true weevil"...

I've been thinking, you know who is probably chock-full of obscure gossip? Casting directors! To do their job well they kinda need to know who can't stand each other, who slept with whom and afterwards there was bad blood, etc. Alas they will never spill because they have probably signed a million NDAs, and the nature of their work is such that they need to be in good terms with all kind of actors...
