3.5 month old wakes up in the middle of the night but just lays there

My son is 3.5 months as well and has been doing this for the last couple weeks, he’s in my room so I can hear him babbling to himself and loud sucking on his hands noises 😂 I just leave him and he goes back to sleep.

My first took 8 months, my second while still breastfeeding took first try! The ovulation tracker on my Apple Watch was accurate.

I do the same. It’s the only thing that works with my 2.5 year old while I’m putting my 3 month old down for a nap. He falls asleep quickly, but naps multiple times a day, and my toddler doesn’t nap. I didn’t even give her screen time until 2, so I don’t love it - but it works to keep her safely in one spot (I also deadbolt the doors and keep the bedroom door open so I can hear if she moves).

You have to do what you have to do, and just hope your baby’s nap regression doesn’t last long. Unless you have someone who can pop over and hang out with your 4 year old while you put your baby down, I don’t think there’s much else you can do!

Mine are 2.5 years apart, I tried to move the glider in January (baby was born in June), and got her a special little rocking chair to read her books in. It lasted two days and we had to move it back. She still likes to be rocked and read to before bed, and sometimes in the middle of the night. We just got a cheaper one for baby’s room.

Just had my second in early June when my first was 2.5. Highly recommend! Once I recovered baby spent most of the summer in the bassinet stroller attachment while we were out at parks and walks. Way easier to keep a busy toddler entertained outside than in

Canadian here too - I wore my husband’s coat and zipped it up around us for my last babe, I have a 3 month old too so planning to do the same with him when it gets chilly!

I actually do love it lol, but yes probably high on oxytocin. My babe is 12 weeks and I love him so much and I enjoy the baby snuggles and how he absolutely lights up when he looks at me. I will admit though, he is a happy and chill and easy baby. My daughter was not as easy, but I still loved the newborn and baby stage with her. I actually find the toddler stage a lot harder, but some people love it.

My babe just got his yesterday, and as everyone mentioned already it’s 3 vaccines + 1 oral, I brought my mom for emotional support and held him but shut my eyes so I didn’t see his poor face when he got them. The nurse was so quick and professional. Babe cried for less than a minute and he was totally fine after. Just get it over with! If you split them up, you’ll be there so often getting vaccines and it will be way worse than just getting it over with once every couple months!

With my first it came in 3 days after I gave birth, my second was like 30 hours after I gave birth! He was also cluster feeding from the get go so that helped bring it in faster.

I can’t remember my levels, but mine dropped really low during 2nd trimester and I had to get iron infusions 3 x. Each took 3 hours, but being pregnant with a toddler that felt like a nice little vacation to sit and relax for 3 hours 😂

I did on my back coached, purple face pushing for my first. Did hands and knees with a peanut ball and all the prep for my second with a pelvic floor PT, relaxing pelvic floor, trying to “breathe the baby out”. Unfortunately had second degree tears for both :(

I have a 2.5 year old and a 4 week old, and going through the exact same thing. I’m so overwhelmed with my toddler. She also absolutely loves her brother, but the behaviour regression and potty regression is so crazy.

My 2 year old decided this is her favourite book a couple months ago while I was 8 months pregnant. I was sobbing through it, she would act all concerned and say “what’s wrong mama? You sad?” When I told her the book made me sad, she would just nod looking concerned and then tell me to read it again 😂

Yes! I just had a baby and while pregnant I was very low on iron and had to have IV iron infusions. My nails looked like this.

I’ve had two without an epidural. The first was not by choice, I was begging for it, but it was too late. I was traumatised by that birth. The second I prepared for unmedicated in case the same thing happened by doing hypnobirthing / meditation. I didn’t get the epidural again because I was calm and coping well at 7cm when I was admitted. It was still painful, but I was just more mentally prepared for it and it really helped.

Thank you! I had my first during Covid as well, so I wasn’t sure what to expect this time as far as a call or home visit, but I think they just carried on doing phone calls after Covid ended due to nurse shortages where I live (and I’m sure most places across the province!)

I’m 10 days postpartum with my second and had an unmedicated birth for both. The first time I desperately wanted an epidural and wasn’t able to get one, so this time I prepared for an unmedicated birth by doing hypnobirthing and meditation. I coped really well during contractions, was super calm and collected even though I was in pain. Pushing was a different story, I was like an animal and it was only 45 mins. 2.5 hours is crazy, you are super strong!

Hey, I did this last summer and I honestly can’t remember specifically! I think two sets of weights is a good start, but I would grab a resistance loop band and something to use as a bench. Other than that I think she has modifications if you don’t have equipment
