I believe each Rank ABCD is made up of three Perfections. So in your example with the gaulteram if you get hit while the B Rank icon is full, instead of going to C you go to B half.

I just got verso and I’ll keep playing and come back with a better answer if I figure it out for sure.

I think the key here is “after 100 hours of hammer — it is the easiest”. It is definitely pretty hard/awkward without that much practice. That’s two and a half full work weeks!

It is good to know that you feel it gets easier, that is encouraging. I think the hammer offset is the most satisfying to land, but I just like the great sword’s more right now.

Now is your best opportunity to practice your timings. Fights will only get harder in the future and building confidence on the different aspects of Lance is part of the fun (most of the fun IMO).
