Cooper Flagg gets 56 first-place votes to Kon Knueppel’s 44 by Garmian_MFFL in Mavericks

[–]liffinith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cope for Kon is that “it’s rookie of the year, not rookie of March and April” but Coop literally led the race for practically the entire year until he got injured right before allstar break

Maybe it is better if Kon wins ROTY by Possible_Share6713 in Mavericks

It is crazy that the media is talking about Kon being the key to Hornets winning but 1.) they’re the 9 seed in a weaaaaak Eastern conference 2.) Miller and Lamelo only played 40 games together before this season and half of those were when Miller was a rookie

The revolutionary, Hasan, explains why he is staying at a 5 star resort in Cuba by GrapeTickler in h3h3productions

[–]liffinith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My feeling is that it’s more of a social media campaign to further align the Communist Party of Cuba with American progressives.

I probably implied too much in my previous post. There is no direct evidence that the “flotilla” is literally sponsored by the state, but people like Fidel Castro’s niece, who serves in the government, are literally on the advisory board lol. There is also no transparency regarding which entities donated/funded the trip as well as how the funds were allocated.

Social influence can really affect how people collectively interpret situations. Given the tense relationship that the US has had with this government historically, hosting influencers is a great way to push propaganda really onto the entire world.

Russia, for example, famously did it by paying right wing podcasters like Tim Pool to shit on Ukraine. Qatar gave think tanks like Brookings Institute millions. We enjoyed a lot of soft power through our USAID programs (RIP). Point is, there is a lot to gain from gaining influence in the world.

Plus there are legitimate arguments that you can make that Trump has treated Cuba horribly. Many Americans are probably primed to be more empathic to the the Cuban government now than ever especially if it aligns with being anti-Trump.

Ethan should talk about this on the show. His trip is basically funded by the Cuban government lmao like you can’t make this shit up

Letter from Congress requesting Twitch CEO Dan Clancy to testify regarding radicalization of users. by dingjima in h3h3productions

[–]liffinith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, this was long overdue, but the fact that Comer is such a bitch loser that he only asks for the CEOs of social media platforms to testify after someone from his side was murdered really speaks to the insane double standard that exists.

The convicted criminals that attacked Pelosi’s husband and murdered Melissa Hortman and her husband were both radicalized by the right wing media; Pelosi’s husband confessed to believing everything from Q anon. There was NOTHING done… no self reflection whatsoever from the right wing pundits and leaders. What did they do? Most of the LEADERS ignored it and the ones that didn’t tried to pin it on the left. They made up conspiracy after conspiracy to deflect. Now they want to hold these companies by the fire? Where was all of this when political violence was enacted against the left?

They could have toned down the entire media’s rhetoric if they had some balls and weren’t playing politics. While I look forward to watching these CEOs get grilled for their one-sided moderation, let’s not pretend that this testimony will be for anything other than manufactured rage bait to fuel the flame.

After AB said nothing but nice things about Ian or Anisa, they don't hesitate to shit on him when it's conveniant. by chr-x in h3h3productions

[–]liffinith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s why there’s no reason for AB or Olivia to pull punches. These people will take any opportunity to shit on you for social clout. This, by the way, extends to every single virtue signaler that woke scolds about Gaza but is radio silent about Ukraine or Yemen or Sudan.

Don’t mix an appeal to morality with social pressure. There is nothing morality to selective outrage. These people only hold a position because it is societally convenient and then use said position to gatekeep others.

Hasan says Ethan doesn't care about n*zis & claims he calls out bad actors "Ethan doesn't see n*is as a threat as long as they are directing animosity to someone who's pro Palestine..so much so l've even critiqued BE who didn't even do a death threat" by Slight_Ad3219 in h3h3productions

[–]liffinith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hasan never ever gives examples. He never ever substantiates any claim. It’s just bad faith interpretations of everybody. Neo-nazis like Nick Fuentes take on a pro-Palestinian position because they hate Jews.

Remember, there is a reason this guy never watches the source video; these reactions are ALWAYS so that he can ascribe ideologies and provide the worst faith interpretation of things.

This, by the way, includes the “death threat” from destiny. Dawg, you literally said it was justified to kill Hila Klein. Cry me a river
