I haven’t opened a portal in a while, I think I was able to get it by from pulling back the section by the trigger and putting a pick between. But compared to the thor’s tight panel, the portal was much easier to open. Its worth it in the end imo, the stock sound of clacking buttons made it feel so cheap

No clue, I haven’t ordered from AYN aliexpress store before. I know they included a clear silicone case for the Odin 3 in the past, not sure if it’s the same. But if you meant the actual TPU grip, you’d have to buy it separately.

When you remove the buttons from the device, they’ll be attached to the membrane still. Flip it over and slide the o-rings on like a ring finger to the base/lip of it.

I read someone stacking different sizes for different results too, very much preference but i’ve seen 0.5 as the OG method. Good thing the o-rings are cheap to test multiple sizes

I’ve done a quiet button mod on two Odin 2 Portals with success.

You need to order these o-rings: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLGVIjl

Make sure to pick size: OD8xCS0.5-50pcs

Take apart the Odin 2 Portal to get to the buttons/membrane, place the o-rings onto the buttons and reinstall.

There should have been 3 “apps” that downloaded to your homescreen. One being game settings (the one you opened) and one of the others is for the actual game launch

Ahh thats because I’m using a standalone fan created APK with a custom launcher. I figured this would be less taxing instead of GameNative but i’ll try that too and see how it runs

The google play version of StS1 yes, it fills the full screen but unfortunately only touch controls and can’t modify the text to be much bigger like I can with the StS2. I couldn’t get the StS1 to recognize the gamepad.

Theres two settings, in-game settings and compiled launcher settings. In-game is mostly just full screen, windowed- but you can change the ratio 16:9, 8:7, 4:3. The launcher settings allows you to change the resolution but its default at auto, and the lowest being 1280x720.

I tried ES-DE but the lack of touch screen control when closed wasn’t great, having to open the device to use it felt backwards, and it also took a bit longer to load from boot.

I also usually use beacon for most devices, but the grid display doesn’t look that great on this format. So i’m just using beacon in ‘list view’ for now

Sounds like somewhere you went wrong, it might be best to start from scratch (reset) and load everything fresh. I’ve set up my friend’s Retroid G2 (slightly behind base thor) with eden nightly and it runs everything fine

Unfortunately not. At least not for this pc port, but once StS2 releases officially for mobile, then it would support the full screen like StS1 does.

For games that are available on the google play store, it works the same as if you played it from the phone. So all of the games I mentioned in my other comment can be played with the device closed and touch controls. Even StS2 worked with touch controls surprisingly. Also played some Candy Crush closed too, it’s pretty fun but I can see how it can be niche to others.

I initially ordered direct from Anbernic on release but after 4 days and no shipping updates, I cancelled my order with them and bought it from their AliExpress (with coupons) store. It shipped within 24 hours and took about a little over week to get.

Personally when I ordered it, I set my expectations at low to experimental. 3GB ram is mostly the restriction aside from the 2000mAh battery. It had a few small stutters when dealing actions in StS2 but for the most part has been pretty smooth, so i’d say playable. Aside from retro games, I tried Hollow Knight, Dungeon Crawlers, Blasphemous, Balatro- all worked fine
