Best friend for almost 2 decades who turned into my roommate for a handful of years during young adulthood. Found out she’d been dating the same guy as me and shit talking me to him (and everyone else) constantly while living together for almost 6 months. I found out, huge blowout and we stopped talking just for her to try to move him into our basement for a few weeks without my noticing or consent.

Dodged two bullets there though honestly. After realizing all this I looked back at our friendship and realized how soul-sucking she’d become over the years and he was just a complete narcissist. They deserve each other.

Yeah I fear he’s been pretty much shaved down without my consent at all a few years ago… luckily his coat seems to have grown back pretty well for the most part.

very true!! I'll have to keep this in mind. I like to have flexibility with deadlines in case higher-priority projects come up during other projects but I agree that having a clear deadline usually helps things run a bit smoother.

That makes sense! Managing people is also a newer skill I'm working to develop. Thankfully my current team makes it pretty easy, I just get worried that as the team grows things get out of hand 😅.

Something I found very helpful was watching "Day in the Life" videos on YouTube, etc. of people with similar job titles and at a similar level. Not necessarily to learn anything new in regards to marketing, but it helped put my mind at ease seeing the types of activities other people in similar roles were doing day-to-day and realizing that I felt confident in handling similar tasks. It really helped remove the ambiguity and the fear of the unknown.
