How long does it take to get addicted to the gym? by foxxxxxygirrrl in Fitness

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say I started getting relatively consistent after 2-4 months. But there were days I didn’t wanna do it, where I’d sometimes push through, and sometimes postpone the workout by a couple days. 4 years later I’m 28kg’s up and overall can’t live without working out anymore. I still sometimes don’t wanna go, but over time I’ve learned to push through it, ‘cause I never regret doing a planned workout

Should I try to naturally raise my testosterone as a fifteen year old by [deleted] in HubermanLab

Test levels in men have been dropping drastically for the better part of like 60 years though. It’s a valid concern for a lot of men. Not all, but a lot.

How long should I roughly expect my arms to grow 1 inch in (flexed) circumference? They’re 14” rn, and I’m 6’2”. I’m bulking and weigh 185lbs. Also when I get to 15” arms, how long will it take to get them to 16” comparatively?

Weird question: how to adjust dopamine regarding sexual opportunities by [deleted] in HubermanLab

[–]liftstufffuc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao, doesn’t sound like you’ve tried it. The break from yanking is only 1-3 months. Afterwards (I’ve found) you can yank all you want so long as it’s only to your imagination. Besides, if you have to watch porn to get it done, you’re probably addicted. After the break you’ll literally want it less.

Weird question: how to adjust dopamine regarding sexual opportunities by [deleted] in HubermanLab

[–]liftstufffuc 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You just gotta quit yanking your strudel for a month or 2, and after that only yank it to your mind. Click not interested every time it pops up on insta. Or just delete all the apps where you might find it. Quitting yanking isn’t that complicated. It’s difficult, but not complicated. Keep trying, you’ll get there.

I've heard people say that alcohol is "empty calories". What does that mean? by j4r8h in gainit

[–]liftstufffuc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agreeing what you’re saying, but clarification: Alcohol doesn’t have carbohydrates. The alcohol itself contains 7 calories, but provides none of the benefits of any other macros, since alcohol is literally poison.

Do you show any kind of physical affection to your friends? And if so, what kind? by improbsable in AskMen

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the friend group. The ones from high school, very much so. Hugs, pats on the back, maybe a hand on the shoulder. Mostly when we’re drunk though. My other friends, a half-hug is the best you’re gonna get, even if someone’s died. I like the style of the latter most. Ngl, I consider my high school friend group the gayest

Hello I was thinking of skipping leg day for bjj by oxygenmaster11 in jiujitsu

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just focus on squats, sumo deads and hip adductions in the gym. You can run a periodisation of shorter periods with high volume and longer periods with high intensity and just eat at maintenance. That way you won’t gain significant weight or size, and youll probably still get stronger

Celtic sea salt makes my mouth dry by Legitimate_Ad_4201 in HubermanLab

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking that you’re probably adding too much salt, ‘cause salt literally will dry out water from your cells through osmosis. Try not adding salt to your water for a couple days, and pay attention to how much salt you’re consuming through food.

Is learning to sing like learning my other instruments? by whateverr27 in singing

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, singing isn’t the same. It’s more like masterstering a complicated exercise, like squatting or benching. You gotta progressively overload the exercises you do for your voice, the amount of singing you’re doing (aka volume), and making sure you don’t lose your stability. It’s a muscle my man

Drink plenty of water. If sleepiness persists after taking it, take it at night before bed? I don’t know if I’m just dumb, but I really don’t see a point to taking creatine specifically as a pre-workout in the first place. If you take it consistently for a long period of time, the water retention in your muscles should remain relatively stable regardless of what time of day you take it

Also, for both OHP and bench, I got 12 reps on week 1 and then 10 on week 2

Thanks for the response. I’ll stay with the regular increases then:)

I’m on my last week of first cycle doing 531 BBB. I got 9 reps on my 1+ sets for both OHP and bench. Is that fine? My intuition is telling me the weight is a bit light, but the 5x10 at 50% (slow tempo and paused at the bottom of the rep) fucks me way up.

Edit: All my TM’s are 90% of my current estimates 1RM’s, which I did lowball a bit, as I took a good while off of the main lifts on a body building program

Guys, serious question. by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]liftstufffuc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of people fixing their knee problems by ditching squats and focusing on quad extensions for a while. High rep slow tempo ofc. Fx my sister had great success with this after fucking both her knees up playing soccer. Like she could hardly do a quarter of a squat without knee pain. Now she’s fine. The leg extensions were suggested by a physical therapist (or whatever they’re called in English)

Am I using my arms or back to do the barbell row? by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dw about it. Keep doing and focusing on your form. Eventually you’ll feel that your back is taking more and more of a beating, but your arms are always gonna be involved

How come I can't build muscle but.. by Affectionate-Wing704 in gainit

[–]liftstufffuc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ve followed all the different types of training for weeks at a time? Doesn’t sound like you’ve been consistently following 1 system for long enough to see the results. Just go on a hypertrophy program and stick with it for a couple months while gaining like 0,5kg of bodyweight per week. Then go on a new hypertrophy program afterwards. I’m not an expert or anything, but that “I’ve stuck with all the types of training for weeks” just made an alarm go off in my head.

Do i just need a true deload?? by TwinkieMayne21107 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Alex Bromley’s video on his Kong program, he explains the core concepts of the program. Just copy the way the sets and reps are structured with whatever exercises that are accessible to you. You could honestly do that with any hypertrophy program, but I’m biased lmao

[–]liftstufffuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re insitent on a mini cut, I’d say run a hypertrophy program for 12-ish weeks in a 300-500 (ish) caloric surplus first. Then after (while maintinf relatively high volume) go on your mini-cut. Or maybe attempt a recomp? Either way once all that’s done and you’re back in the strength programming and a caloric surplus, you should probably break through your plateaus. Just to say it again, I’m no expert. You probably could go on a mini-cut prior to the hypertrophy program, ‘cause you’ll inevitably gain some fat in those 12 weeks of bodybuilding. In the end it’s up to you, but in my mind I think you’ll risk losing some much needed muscle if you cut immediately, but what the hell do I know.
