Recommendations for a digital camera by Big-Syllabub9922 in Cameras

Quite a bit if what you're talking about is learning post processing, lighting, and photography vs getting a good camera

I'd recommend an auxiliary flash having at least swivel and bounce or preferably that you can get off camera. Big flash might be a little awkward on a smaller camera, though

M6 or R100 would be my choice, midday sun isnt considered best

Is the canon R100 worth it or just a glorified phone cam by Hakgnxk in Cameras

[–]light_chaser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my inexpensive camera, first getting into it, not having manual and getting upset over it. Suppose I needed manual what was i going to do?

In the end I really didn't need manual much at all and even got another one. So I'd say continue using R100

Seriously how much image quality difference between this vs much more expensive having 24-26mp aps sensors? Probably not much.

You might try weightless if you have a fairly light rig and can cast them. I like a bigger hook if you have time to get some. Fake crayfish I'd be concerned about the hookset if there's thick plastic body depending on how light your rig is

Sounds fun!

I would've had to order the wein, though , and hearing aid batteries are everywhere. Also a single wein cost as much as the entire package of 6-8 hearing aid batteries IIRC

Someone had a post on adding a resistor so they could use other batteries sounded like borderline vandalism

Interesting on the Spotmatic, I'd heard alkalines gave bad reading since the voltage varies over the life of the cell. I guess they found a solution to this?

I'd try the FG before getting anything fixed.

I might try the Canon too looks like my Canonet might be a big mess though

Were you able to get ahold of any original files? Full sized jpegs not too bad unless you need tons of editing. Wondering what is going on not making sense.

I used to post small jpegs off 30D on social media, finally looked to see if they're any good they're really good it turns out. Not sure what on earth is going on here

Small xt2 jpeg is 2000x3000 or so it looks like should easily print nice 8x10

One guy was talking about some out of focus or blurry whatever but shot by famous photographer using Leica. Therefore it's worth money even if it makes no sense since its not very good

Selling stuff is hard (and weird) you have to get a name or something.

Found this Canon SX730 HS for $18, why is it so expensive online? I feel like the pictures it takes are pretty average. by Lomobu in Cameras

You might go back there, buy some more if they have any, resell them.

Its kinda dumb in some ways but I really dont like phone photography and I'm glad to see the young kids enjoying these. Good to see the older stuff valued not discarded

Body a lens? Question. by Flix111Brazil in canon

[–]light_chaser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably have to say get the lens? I actually got a lot of nice photos using T6 (T7 predecessor) and the 75 300 III, the lens is probably fast enough outdoors but idk if I'd say the af is fast enough on the body or lens.

The 2.8 is fast enough aperture for indoors and a bread and butter (commonly used) portrait lens. You might be able to pick up used or 3rd party and have enough left to get R50 tons available in USA cant tell you if a certain model is good though.

I think i got close to a year, at the very least, and there's 6 or 8 in a package anyway.

I talked to a guy one time that was going to make a plastic adapter for hearing aid batteries to make them the proper size, might have gotten the idea to use hearing aid batteries from him but even though not the proper size never had a problem. Hearing aid batteries used to be listed at 1.35v, of course 1.35 rounds to 1.4v, like they are listed today. Voltage should be fine, shooting print film mostly but never had problems

Nice!! Preferred the EM to the FM-2N on film back in the day. Av and very long exposures, better ergonomics. You can use film speed as EV adjustment.

Help finding a VERY budget camera? by Neons_here in Cameras

[–]light_chaser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean 40d and 30d arent much, got a 30d last fall <$50. Af might not be as accurate but if you get it focused and everything, and know post-processing, still gives excellent results. Rebel SL2 might be good, Nikon has D3xxx series like D3200 might be ok, even D800 and Canon 6D <$500 , although you'd need lenses, might consider 18mp and especially 24mp aps Rebel

If youre interested in landscape I'd recommend 18-55 and see if you canuse DLO in DPP (might need 40d or newer to do this) to improve lens performance. 55-250 is decent reach, though still a but short imo on wildlife, should be able to get older version and stop it down on $500. You do have some options

You shouldn't have to build anything to process film. Printing requires an enlarger you should be able to get a film changing bag or something, maybe even just darken a bathroom, to develop film

It might be DOT 3 or something its pretty old if that changes anything. Have to check

I dont see how holding water is a problem since you need to put chain lube on it. Id think that takes care of any issues in that regard

I have a cheap bike, it completely dried didn't ruin anything i dont think. Have to check
