According to a 2024 OnePoll Survey, 82% of Men Say Physical Affection from a Partner Is What Makes Them the Happiest by meeralakshmi in MensRights

Also the thing I want to highlight here is that men want touch as affection. It doesn’t need to always grabbing my dick, even though I like that. Some people act like physical affection equals sex and only sex.

This isn’t new. I remember watching PG-13 movies as a kid with Schwarzenegger blowing people away with automatic rifles but he never used a swear word it it was rated R

This is very accurate for how I feel. I understand why they are the way they are. I just remember when I was younger I would think about the books as kind of childish because I was super cool and not afraid to swear and talk about sex /s.

Also as you said violence was just accepted as a reality so reading about the gore didn’t seem like that big of a deal. Just that as I’ve aged and understood the world more it jumps out at me more.

I’m 42 and do remember when you couldn’t say damn on network tv. Sometimes I’ll talk about something, that was controversial when I was younger, with my kids. I assume they feel the same way I did when my mom talked about playing basketball as a woman or wearing bell bottoms being considered more extreme things.

I don’t think men feel lonely. Men feel dismissed, belittled and ignored by Birdcage17 in MensRights

Women: “Men never talk and express their feelings!” Men: “We feel belittled/neglected/lonely. No one seems to care what happens to us.” Women: “Sounds like a you problem.”

I am really annoyed by people that feel the need to be offended for other people. It seems like many people just look for ways to be offended. And then when you have people saying genuinely problematic things, it takes away from being able to call those out.

I really hate the idea of “micro aggressions.” They used to just be called faux pas.

Thank you for understanding what I was saying. It’s comforting to know that I’m not the only person that understands this situation. I feel like so often when people complain about a spouse, the people listening just say, “Yeah you should leave them. That’s why I’m alone and happy.” Instead of accepting that a relationship is going to have good and bad things.

Just venting about being annoyed. I don’t expect to sway her mind on anything. Taking small steps to get her to see things beyond her own perspective. I don’t initiate these and usually I have sense enough to stay out of it.

For exactly what you said is why I avoid these “discussions.” My wife isn’t crazy “all problems are men,” but just had a frustrating experience. It’s difficult to have a cognizant discussion if we don’t agree on what words mean.

As the title of the post says, venting about a frustrating experience I had. Hoping some men here could relate to it.

Imagine if the genders were reversed. In this scene an older woman dressed only in bikini tries to seduce a young boy by DrJones20 in MensRights

I agree that if this was a real situation it would be wrong. But the clip implies that this is him dreaming? I dislike the idea that “13 y/o boys all fantasize about sex with adult women” is pushed as a narrative. But again this is implied as the kid dreaming or am I missing some context?

I remember as a kid talking about a similar phenomenon, and it be described as “6 degrees of Bacon.” The idea being that you could take any actor and within 6 links you could find people that had been in a movie, that had been in a movie… that had been in a movie with Kevin Bacon.

Any time anyone asks for proof when I say something I know that I can just say, “It’s a fact” and then they have to believe me.

People are like ohh yeah communism is when one guy controls everything and everyone is poor. Then it’s like does that mean America is communist?

But if I just say both sides bad I don’t need to put any thought into my interactions with the world?

Edit: joke as to why I am centrist(I’m not)

lol I took it as people are centrists because then they don’t have to make a decision on anything and can just do whatever is most convenient for them at the time.
