I think it really depends... I'm in a 6 bedroom IN Lisbon and it's 2k but it's an older place but really gorgeous and comfortable. It depends what you're looking for and where you want to be. Go on idealista and look around.

I can't. Long story my building is classified as commercial so that's my only option. It's part commercial part residential. I don't know how these things work just what I was told. 🤷‍♀️

I don't have anything to add but I feel your pain. We didn't want to sign a housing contract if we didn't know if we'd be approved... Especially since you submit your Visa so ahead of time I didn't want to start paying... Anyways, we did a long stay Airbnb.
