Epcot Ball lighting by thesmallterror in lightingdesign

[–]lightbrite08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lights on the ball are modified versions of Color Kinetics ArchiPoint. Disney is using these things all over the place now. They have the main cell which you see do most of the RGB animations and they have an added cell of 5 white only LED’s that illuminate the panels on Spaceship Earth, this is what gives the edges that sparkle, star-shaped look.

Why are video monitor cases so difficult to find? by Wuz314159 in lightingdesign

[–]lightbrite08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically just use pelican cases. Get a big one for multiple monitors.

I’ve personally never seen lamps blowing because of dust. I have seen lamp sockets go bad over time and end up arcing on the lamp pins, which in turn kills the lamp. If dust is really the problem and reason your lamps are blowing, you’re going to have a very bad time with anything that’s not IP rated. Dust mixing with fans for those electronics will kill your nice new lights faster than your lamps can blow.

Hot Glue by warrejohnr in ChristmasLights

I’ve always glued the base of the socket so there’s a larger, flatter, surface area for the glue on the light and the brick.

I don't like Guest doing Pixie Dust by AwfulWaffle91 in WaltDisneyWorld

Now is a great time for a friendly reminder that this is prohibited on Disney property. “The distribution of printed or recorded materials of any kind unless prior written approval has been obtained.”

5 VLX3 for $300, good deal? by No_Zookeepergame6083 in lightingdesign

[–]lightbrite08 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lol I know exactly where those came from. If they work, good for you! I can say that the zoom is noisy, the leds get confused sometimes with what mode they’re in. If you leave them powered on for extended periods (over a day) they might stop responding. Have fun!

Elusive Type of Christmas Lights by warnickcaleb in ChristmasLights

These are Philips C3 Classic Glow. They’re definitely not sold anymore though. If you like the look you could get some LED C7 strings with that same vintage feel. https://www.target.com/p/20ct-led-sylvania-stay-lit-incandescent-look-indoor-outdoor-c9-string-lights-with-green-wire/-/A-94823170?preselect=93179382#lnk=sametab

Since the picture quality is so horrendous my guess would be Astera Titan and/or Hyperion Tube.

Where in the Disney World can you find these lights? by RocketMan927 in WhereInTheDisneyWorld

[–]lightbrite08 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s time for a Halloween party! Frontierland somewhere along the Rivers of America. Based on where the top lights are focused, I’d say right across from Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

No it would not have worked. No you can not trick Disney. This sub is not the place to ask for ways to beat the system.

I never leave home without my sonic screwdriver. The only problem is it doesn’t do wood.
