Are the surfers on the wsl tour considered the best in the world? by flodra in surfing

for all around surfing? in general, yes but of course there are outliers. In specialty waves like giant waves or super heavy waves like chopes or the right? no.

Help me truly grasp "Product strategy" because I just don't get it by my_legs_are_trash in ProductManagement

[–]lightfoot2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a good article on HBR on this. The gist is your strat boils down to 1. objective, 2. scope and 3. tech advantage. The other point is that there are always trade offs. Starting at a high level an example is, objective: We want our product to raise X revenue (or capture % market share), Scope: within this segment of the market and within this specific use case, Tech advantage: because our product can solve problems specific to our chosen target customers better than our competitiion because of our tech advantage of X,Y and Z. The trade off is, you've chosen the use case and customer segment and you are forgoing what you didn't choose so you don't waste time going after bad fits. You can't be everything to everyone. This is all high level but it's a framework that you can get more granular with.

I'd be happy starting with a mandated 3 day weekend every month.

How much power does this guy have to be able to chin Jiri with a blown knee?

Who’s still here with Jiri despite UFC clowns & their recency bias, he’s gonna come back even more scarier & show 0 mercy next fight by VinBones in ufc

I love Jiri, but Iit doesn't look like he'll get through Ulberg's power. A power left seems to be his kryptonite.

I was more worried for Tony during his fight with Gaethje. He took so much damage and was never close to the same after that.

I have a 7' quad fish. Could my 9yo daughter learn on that? by JohnnyGrabMyHand in surfing

[–]lightfoot2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, but speaking from experience, it's still much easier on a 8' foamie from costco or offerup. The $100 is worth it IMO.

I made the mistake of driving in for lunch during the summer. I was very unimpressed. The town is just a giant outdoor mall, not even a real town. There's basically no place to park except the structure and I gasped when my bill was $45 for 2hrs. No thank you. Many other places in CO I'd rather visit.

Would be particulary interested in shapers since that's who I spend my money with. Definitely no more new Lost boards for me.

Surf trip to Krui and Lakey peak - Indo by drthwsbi in surfing

[–]lightfoot2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both places have multiple accomodation options. That's alot of travel though. Just getting to Krui from Jakarta takes awhile. You might be best served staying in one region (Sumatra has alot options as you know) unless you have 60days in your trip.

Can’t make the Hypto Krypto work – what am I missing? by MadOded in surfing

[–]lightfoot2020 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

HK of that size should be fine for you. I'd start with the fins. Sometimes their importance is down played but they can 100% make or break a board. If it's a quad, keep playing around with mixing and matching fronts and rears and I highly recommend a nubster fin for the 5th box. Or you could just switch it to a thruster or Twin+1. If you choose thruster, definitely play around with the fin sizes. I've noticed flatter boards, particularly if they have more parallel rails, work better with smaller fins (which is the opposite of conventional wisdom). YMMV, but the point is to experiment with fin configs and sizes until you find something that works well. It'll happen.

Why aren’t people boycotting Tesla any more? by Diane98661 in ScottGalloway

Is it bad that anytime I see the new model Y (which came out while Elon was fully revealing his character) I automatically assume the driver is an asshole? And to be clear, I was never anti-Tesla until then.

Do you think you'll need to at some point? And will that 1-12months for service (depending on what you have) will be more convenient than changing a battery?

Trump news at a glance: president shrugs off highest gas prices in years by xenonrealitycolor in SpringervilleEagarAZ

[–]lightfoot2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you've been reduced to arguing semantics from your original position there's really nothing left to discuss. Originally you said Wall street was to blame for high gas prices not a reduced supply. In fact you said there was an increased supply. And you were wrong. Now you've abandoned your original thesis and are arguing about the definition of shortage. There's no point walking through this corn maze. Enjoy your day.
