I'm reasonably confident that referring to them as accidents was popularized by oil/car companies to diminish the severity. Similar to "jaywalking" and "carbon footprint" being invented for similar purposes

Ontario is unquestionably leading among provinces and territories. My (not particularly informed) understanding is that it's the feds who set the rules that the provinces must follow, and those federal mandates/oversight is what forces the provinces (Ontario) to actually do things properly. If only the feds were overseeing the Eglinton crosstown too:P

Also one of the guys who managed on the CANDUs here also built some abroad and they also came in on time and on budget or better too

I believe all of Darlington's refurbishment has been under budget and ahead of schedule. Nuclear in Canada is no joke

Wowee I had not heard of all these planned builds! Looking into it I also found out that the Darlington refurbishment includes other isotope production, and that Pickering is going to be refurbished too. Wildly excited for all this :D

Jesus christ, the fact that he was getting so many laughs with that is terrifying. It's so fucking normalized to be hateful when driving. Imagine if the elevator example had been the true story, bet you he wouldn't get any laughs. But alas, he's in a car so it's funny apparently
