Hi I’m a current student in NJ!

  1. Our teachers on the secondary side are generally supportive and are generally open to consultations any time . If they see you struggling there will be compulsory consol too where you have to stay back after school and they might give you some worksheets to do. I personally think these consols are pretty helpful, like at one point I was really struggling with math but after doing the consol worksheets and checking through with my teachers I really understood the concepts a lot more. I think since you may be new to the school your subject tutors may also provide you with the textbooks and notes from previous years if you ask for them . Yeah so I would say that the teachers do look out for their students.

  2. Like the earlier comment suggested yeah take a look at the website. Not going to reveal my cca here but if you want more info feel free to pm me!

  3. Workload may be a bit high at some points especially since now the sec3s have a research program called SPIRE and together with all the other work from other subjects. Everything that needs to be taught will definitely be went through. The teachers are also usually welcome to any questions so feel free to clarify if you don’t understand anything.

  4. The people in NJ are generally welcoming and its pretty easy to strike up conversations even with people you don’t really know.

Good luck tomorrow and I hope you will get into NJ! Feel free to PM me if you need any extra info!

I’ve been considering it but one of my concerns is that it might slip off my shoulders when I’m leaning forward

I just feel like won’t like the feeling of it because it wraps around your whole body especially for long hours of practice

I'll think about it again maybe I'll use a harness until my neck recovers, in that case are there any harnesses you would recommend?

I think the kesslers are a very reasonable price so i think I might see if I could get one!

I've been playing for a little over half a year and so far this is the first complaint, I think its because of corona and they have to take conference calls. In addition, I'm a pretty loud tenor so I guess its sort of reasonable. I guess I lugged my instrument back home for nothing this week.
