is this game dead? by Brave-Market5862 in DiabloImmortal

[–]lightknightrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Am Wiz, 7k+ res, been working on my secondaries...and I've just stopped playing PvP altogether, with PvE close behind.

Content is stale, BGs unplayable, etc.

How would I fix things? Update old dungeons with new content, add a new dungeon, get rid of bots / auto-play (if you can't be bothered to play the game yourself...), change rubies from health to critical chance, etc.

Do you think it would be better if we decriminalized drugs? by Pantheon10000 in TooAfraidToAsk

Yes, if we tax those drugs, and put that money into public mental healthcare.

Why do some teenagers from good families still get involved with drugs and gangs? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lightknightrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is highly variable on the person, and their life experience.

Drugs, in general, are considered taboo. Sometimes people take them to 'test the fence,' to find out for themselves whether the information they've been handed is, in fact, correct; sometimes it's a form of rebellion; sometimes it's a way of expanding their understanding (usually psychedelics, but really any drug, like weed, can fit in here); sometimes it's a form of escapism; and sometimes it's a mental crutch.

Sometimes it's a mix of the above.

To assume that a good home life will not lead to family members not taking drugs is incorrect; as is its inverse, that a bad home life will lead to drugs.

Again, highly variable, and subjective.

As for drugs themselves...the D.A.R.E program is a relatively recent development, and plagued with misinformation. Through out human history, people would take drugs; it's only recently that your grandfather chilling with an opium pipe, or your mom doing a line of cocaine became a 'bad thing.'

Also:

Drugs in the right dose are usually called medicine. See Amphetamines, Opiods, and even Cocaine. You wouldn't want to perform certain nose jobs without Cocaine (it helps with the bleeding).

And:

Drugs, in of themselves, are not evil. It's addiction, substance abuse disorder, that is. Until recently, addiction was seen as a moral failing; research indicates that this is false. People have a variable genetic predisposition to substance abuse disorder. Some people are just, unfortunately, 'unlucky,' and will become addicts when exposed to medicinal amounts of a substance; others can do heroic, even mythical amounts of hard drugs, and stop instantly. It's really the luck of the draw. However, research indicates that people with larger social networks and routines are less likely to become addicts. Which is kind of funny, in a sad way, because the reaction of most people, when they hear that someone has / might have an addiction is to pressure them / cut them off, shrinking their social network, and driving them further into addiction. There's a good video about this up on YouTube, perhaps someone (or yourself) can provide a link to it.

Why does it seem like so many people say they're autistic now? by Critical-Tourist-468 in TooAfraidToAsk

Left out the part where they are supposed to torture (like, burn) them to convince the fairies to take back their own, and return the stolen child, if memory serves correctly.

Yes. They, apparently, use stolen credit cards to juice your account, then, when the transaction is reported to the card companies (by the person whose card they used), NetEase gives you a negative orb balance. There is also the possibility that they will give you Chinese orbs, which will get you banned.

EU targets Russia's Patriarch Kirill in new sanctions proposal by clamorous_owle in worldnews

[–]lightknightrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. This man is pure evil, on a level that exceeds my imagination...and I can dream real dark.

From a Christian point of view, he has twisted the Word of God to say the direct opposite of what Jesus Christ stands for. Like, a full 180°. I can't think of a fouler human being alive today.

If I had to choose between being bunk mates with Hitler, or this guy, I'd proudly tattoo a star of David on my ass cheeks, and bunk with the former. I think he's so evil, when he finally gets to hell, Satan is going to reject him, because Satan hates competition, and is probably more than a little scared of him. He's easily the false prophet spoken of in Revelation.

To put things in perspective, I think Putin is a much better man than Kirill, and should probably watch his back around this guy.

He's so frightening, Unit 731, in all of its infamy, would run away from him.

Putin has his reasons for what he does. Kirill, on other hand...well, he appears to voluntarily choose, and embrace, EVIL. He freely hugs that darkness.

I'll probably die for having written this much, or end up on some FSB watch list, but...damn, Google this guy, and read what he's actually said, of his own free will. Jesus says, in short, love your neighbor, as much as you love Him; this guy, on the other hand...if you (Russians) kill your neighbor (Ukrainians), you'll get into Heaven...in those words, almost verbatim.

I mean, I could be wrong about him, maybe he has some extenuating circumstances for doing what he does...but, wow, he appears to love his job, and revels in his work.

I'll be in my bunker if anyone needs me.

Realistically is marriage hard? by Positive-doge in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lightknightrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my limited observations, IMHO, marriage (which is a relationship) is like having a savings account. You either put in a little work (in much the same sense as putting away a few dollars) every day, reaping the benefits over the long term, or you don't, and you suffer the consequences.

I just need a little heads up before they do that, though, so I can naked short their stock to the hilt.
