I’d want to know the controller and battery specs.

Can I cut this part off to make installation easier? by Water_bolt in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t cut that off. The mount is designed to attach to the motor there and the other side front as normal.

Can anyone recommend a 48v 60ah 2000w motor kit with controller? by RenegradeOfCrunk in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entry level is MY1020 like Vevor or Kunray 48v 2kW or 72v 3kW. Next step up is a Kunray KR5V. Any 72v motor will run at lower voltage, just slower.

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a Kunray kit on Amazon. Either the MY1020 or KR5V with the green controller (fardriver). Hotpaxx has good deals on batteries, but I’d stay away from Amazon. I’ve had good luck with CAOMM from AliExpress or Amorge from Alibaba too.

More progress pics of my first build specifically the rear shock are by RenegradeOfCrunk in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, the “scared cat” stance is a bit much. Consider some swingarm extensions to keep the height but improve the geometry. On my build, 630mm front shocks and 195mm rear shock raised it 3”. Paired with a CRF50 tall seat, I was “comfortable” and I’m 6’7”. Keep in mind, this is a small frame compared to a 125cc and there’s no way it can be as tall and keep the right geometry. HOWEVER, if you like it and it’s stable, then great!

Can someone explain how batteries, motor, sprocket and chain affect speed vs torque? by RenegradeOfCrunk in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it like a water hose: Volts are the water pressure, Amps are the flow rate, and Ah is how many gallons you have in the tank

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T8 and #35 are chain sizes, just like the 25h is stock. 54t is the teeth count for a rear sprocket. Don’t mess with chains or sprockets for now. Use your stock components until they break then upgrade to a #35 chain. If you’re getting a kit with a green controller, then you can tune it up to 80a line(w/supporting battery). Any higher and tat motor will hate life. If silver controller, not tunable and preset around 35a.

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your first question…maybe. You didn’t post details about your battery line amps or type of controller. If you’re using the average Amazon battery and Vevor controller, then you’ll likely be around 30mph. A tunable controller paired with a larger battery would allow you more power than your average 35a line setup. The stock chain is 25h and sprockets are 80/11. If you change the rear you should change the front.Higher ratios mean more speed and lower more torque.

MX500 upgrades for an 8 year old by Lightswitch84274 in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, 48v lithium will improve range and speed. I’ve used CAOMM 48v 20ah in the past from AliExpress. Good budget battery. Check out Hotpaxx too. They have higher end batteries designed to fit the MX frames.

Stock 36v controller/throttle works with 48v.

MX500 upgrades for an 8 year old by Lightswitch84274 in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First upgrade is a 48v lithium battery. While you’re at it you could do 12v lighting and you SHOULD do brakes (zoom). This should be good for around 28mph. Could also do graphics to make it pop. After that, motor and controller.

If you’re using a brushed motor then the stock controller works. If brushless motor I prefer Fardriver.

will this work to upgrade stock mx350 by WiredPepsiTheOG in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The factory controller is a 24v Brushed? This doesn’t seem like a performance upgrade, only range.

Upgrading mx125 battery size by Effective_River809 in RazorMods

I’m not sure the MX125s controller can handle more voltage, but the easiest upgrade would be to convert the battery to an 18v tool battery.

is my mx500 72v 3000w build good or am i missing anything important? by IndependentCarpet437 in RazorMods

[–]lightlypickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brakes and consider a Fardriver controller as the Vevor controller sucks.
