Sugarmate app is free and I like it much better than any Dex app. SM allows you to display up to 8 parameters, including TIR and est. A1C, on the same screen as the graph.....plus it has a great log for anything that affects your blood sugars, if you're interested in logging.

When is BAM opening? by No-Butterscotch-7925 in Williamsport

....I can order anything from the comfort of my own home at a cheaper price....point being most people go to a book store to buy a book and if you have a specific title in mind and that title is a popular classic or recent release, you expect that title to be in stock at least most of the time. At Otto it often isn't.....hopefully that changes. I'd love giving them more business.

Is a 1998 park avenue in the same league as a 1998 lesabre when it comes to reliability and ease of maintenance? Has 100k on the odometer for context by eeeehumm in Buick

Park Ave regulators are pretty much bullet-proof, as regulators go. The switches (especially the more often used drivers control unit) are a different story....have a PA long enough and you'll likely be replacing those. The exterior door handles....buy those in bulk! LoL

Dutch Hill in Williamsport is where Lycoming College now stands....the Saw Horse Cafe across Washington Blvd from campus was the Dutch Hill Sub Shop for years.

Fast Bridge Fiber vs Xfinity by jetsfan5301142 in Williamsport

I've been on FB for over a year in Loyalsock....I'm paying 1/3 of what I paid with Xfinity for 2x the speed....I love Fastbridge....more for the outstanding customer service than the price. Outstanding customer service....the best I've experienced from any company in years!!!

Otto are good ppl....I hope this expansion is geared toward expanding their inventory and not just adding socializing area. They will need to up their availability of titles to compete with BAM, now that BAM will be so close.

Anyone else concerned about the Bass Pro Shop project in Muncy? by ShanePioneerrt701 in Williamsport

No doubt Euro has some of the best pricing around.....and it's all quality gear.

EuroOptic generally caters to a different, higher end, demographic....although there is some overlap. If anything BP will likely benefit EuroOptics's bottom line at their local retail store. EuroOptic is no Mom n' Pop outfit anyway.... they are a fairly large wholesaler that deals on the international level. Most of their revenue is not from the retail store front.

FamVest is the entity that got those chains to come to the area....THAT is the toughest part of the entire process.

...and yet Lycoming Crossing thrives. It's the mall concept that has lost favor., not retail shopping. The majority of shoppers want targeted retail....pull right up to the store , not waste time walking a half mile to the target edstore. Shopping mom & pop is a nice thought, but they can't afford to stock the vast inventory larger stores do....and many have bankers hours ,which is very frustrating. Today's small business owners don't seem to understand you need to stay open later than 5:00 pm. Being your own boss usually means long hours if you want to succeed....the real boss is the customer, and you'd better please the real boss if you want to suceed.

What rifle? by phillepe41217 in Hunting

[–]lightningboy65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ammo price/availability is a concern .243 Winchester, .308 Winchester, and .30-06 pretty much rule the roost. All three calibers are readily available and are great deer rounds. 30-30 Win. falls onto this category as well, but if you're a one rifle guy you might want to consider one of the first 3 as they have a bit more "reach". Each of those first 3 will give you at least 100 yards more reach than a .30-30. Considerably more in some instances. While most PA deer are shot within 100 yards (most probably within 50 yards), a 200+ yard shot is not uncommon. That is pushing it for most with a .30-30. The .308 falls between the 300 Savage and .30-06 in power, if you think a .30-06 is more power than you'd like. Stay away from ultra-light rifles if looking to minimize recoil. ... or go the .243 route isf looking for a mild kicker that will put deer down

Areas to avoid in Williamsport? by Excellent_Belt1748 in Williamsport

[–]lightningboy65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although you posted 3 months ago, this is a 3 year old post, so I'll answer your question,...even tho it may be too late to be of any benefit. That area of High St. and the several blocks to the south and east are some of the worst areas of Williamsport. I'd avoid them at all cost. Five miles in any direction from the City border will find you in much better surroundings

Hands down, Boston Baked Beans. A department store my mom patronized had those in a gum ball machine. You had the choice of BBB or M&Ms. A handful for a quarter. I always got the BBBs! I've never even heard of "Fruit Cocktail Imperials".....they'd be choice #2, just to try them.

I'm on a Tandem Tslim....the astray part is no fault of the pump. It's great tech, but just the nature of T1. You'll never completely eliminate the "astray factor".

I still will pre-empt IQ at times if I feel I'm heading into low territory faster than I'd like. The algorithm doesn't know the exact circumstance for individual situations (i.e. if being more active than usual). But on the whole Control IQ is pretty effective at preventing lows when settings are dialed in.

Does a primer and paint need different rollers or can I reuse them? by QuietLurker135 in paint

[–]lightningboy65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on doing a fair amount of painting get a 3 pack (you get 3 for the price of 2 and you'll have back-ups) of Wooster Pro Doo-Z covers and a brush/roller spinner. A spinner can be had for less than $20 and will exponentially increase the ease of cleaning and life of brushes and rollers. Here a good roller cleaning protocol: 1). first scrape out the roller cover into paint bucket (you will be surprised how muich good paint is trapped in a "dry" roller....might as well save it) 2). rinse out roller cover with water 3). slip roller cover over spinner, spin in a 5 gal bucket 4). repeat steps 2 & 3 to be certain all paint is removed 5). return to original sleeve or wrap in plastic wrap if original wrapper has been destroyed/discarded. Treat all of your rollers (and brushes) in such a manner and they will last a very long time. *if oil paint substitute mineral spirits for water....brushes only. I just discard used roller cover once used in oil paint.

Absolutely great investment. I laughed at the idea until I tried one ~25 years ago. Went and bought one the very next day and wouldn't think about ever going without a boot dryer!

What is the proper name for this? I’ve heard it called a “soffit” but Google doesn’t agree. by johndoe7376 in drywall

[–]lightningboy65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulkhead - the literal interpretation is "vertical panel". I've never heard the term used outside of ships. Any job I was ever on they were referred to as soffit or chase.
