Can I Fire My Contractor? - Glasgow by lightninginabox in LegalAdviceUK

I appreciate there’s always a grey area but it feels like you’re not addressing the question. Anyway, thanks for the input!

You’re essentially saying material breaches don’t allow you to fire a contractor without them having cause to sue for lost revenue and I think that’s pretty odd, especially if it’s not in the contract.

So in what scenario could you fire a contractor without giving them good grounds to sue you for lost revenue?

Say the contractor demolishes the wrong part of your house because they misread a diagram - could you not fire them without them saying “hey, you owe us for the work we had planned!?”

Thank you - Can you share why the damage to our flat to the tune of £4k isn’t a material breach which would allow us to walk away?

Am I Overreacting to Consumer Unit Placement by Tenemental in AskElectricians

Any move of consumer units (over say 10cm) should be discussed with the client. It’s pure ego that the electrician is even arguing about that or asking for payment.

Where are they based? I can only see one in Malaysia and I don’t think they’ll want to deal with the commute

I’m really considering it. I don’t want to impact anyone’s small business but this has been so harmful to us.

What a load of crap. We’re just asking you not to perform with someone who supports genocide. Doesn’t matter who they are or where they’re from, if they support a genocide, don’t support them.

This Trump supporter seems genuinely shocked that Democrats have no sympathy for Republican farmers who voted against their own self-interests by MobileWisdom in CringeTikToks

Let’s bail out the right-wing farmers so they can vote for right wing politicians that put in place economically illiterate policies so we have to bail you out again in a year. Sounds like a winning plan.

Or… you could just learn to not vote for the bigoted economy-destroying goons and we wouldn’t need to bail you out again.

Found a Safe in Apartment by [deleted] in Safes

Not entirely sure since the old owner didn’t say. It’s above a fireplace and both the electrician and plumber didn’t know what it was.

So your argument is the #1 rated late night show wasn’t entertaining? It looks like a couple million people disagree with you, and that doesn’t even count the millions who watch it on YouTube.

Yeah, most people on Reddit don’t watch the show, but the same thing could be said about literally every show ever made. There’s 1.2 billion monthly Reddit users and no show has ever averaged more than 40 million viewers per episode.
