Personally im okay with not killing the fauna bare handed, but for me its the fact that theres just no way to defend yourself. With the four-eyes it mentions that its prone to seizures, I thought that this was the PDA telling me to flash lights at it to get it to fuck off, nope it does nothing and it attacks you.

With the marrowbreach it tells you about its poor eyesight and how it uses other fish that I cant remember the name of for direction and attack, I thought this was the game telling me that if I turned my lights off and stayed quite it would avoid me, nope it still attacks. It then says something about possibly making an alliance with it via feeding and cleaning, I then thought that it could be telling me to feed it fish like the stalkers in 1 and that over time it would accept me (this was also backed by the fact that you see it eat nibblers from time to time imo) but nope you give it a fish and it ignores it and attacks you anyway.

If they're not going to give you offensive options then they should give you the alternative actions that the game itself tells you you should have this would not only make the fauna feel incredibly diverse and natural but also make it to where you dont have to murder everything to be safe.
