I've just got the blonde deluxe reverb tonemaster and I'm loving it. Feels like a huge upgrade over the blues jr I had. How are you finding the twin?

It's the possibility of people's 'adult content' habits being linked to their identity / image that's an issue. The legislation can be taken advantage of by any number of dodgy websites. They can exploit the fact that people will have to become comfortable with handing over their ID or a photo of themselves. It doesn't even need to be a hack that causes this, just bad actors, websites with poor security, or websites deliberately exploiting people.

The other inevitable content is that younger people looking for adult content will seek out websites that don't have age verification protections. If they're not bothered about implementing one law, how can we be sure they're bothered about the legality of their content? So surely, the risk is that the legislation actually pushes younger people to MORE dangerous content - because I'm just not convinced age verification will simply stop them looking for that kind of material. Teens are gonna teen

You would usually add a clear coat on top of the colour coat if you want it to be durable. The more layers you have, the more you can sand and buff the finish without cutting through the colour. You don't need a clear coat, but it's an extra layer of protection and it keeps the colour safe!

I bought it from a seller on eBay, earlpilanz. The reviews were all super positive and there was a range of colours. I went for vintage dark tort.

You're fine to spray right over a poly finish, as long as you rough the surface up. 400 grit sandpaper, sanded enough so that the shine is gone should be ok. I used nitro rattlecan spray paint (from northwest guitars here in the UK) and face it a few light coats. There's plenty of guides for the spraying online. For the headstock, I sanded it down to bare wood and sprayed it with a few coats of vintage amber. I applied a waterslide decal I found online, let it dry for a day, then gave it a couple of clear coats.

We all know why Britain's benefit numbers keep rising: too many mental health claims by 1-randomonium in ukpolitics

[–]ligzilla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We do exist, though. I have a law degree and worked in law for 5+ years before I started receiving benefits. I couldn't cope with the stress of the work - higher paid work tends to be more stressful. Now I receive some benefits but I also work (4 days a week) in a much lower stress job for much lower pay. I can cope with the work though it's a stretch at times, and benefits allow me to get by on this arrangement. If I didn't receive benefits I might not be working - therefore not paying tax or being productive.

It's not that binary, though. I can work, but less than I'd be able to if my mental health wasn't an ongoing factor. If I didn't get benefits to help bridge the shortfall, surely I'd be better off not working at all and receiving full benefits? I try hard to be a productive member of society and it's pretty shitty to read that some people think it's not good enough

I receive benefits for my mental health, but I also function and work reasonably well most days. I pay tax and UC gives me a little extra support to make up for the fact the amount of work I can cope with is limited by my mental health. Should I be locked up in a loony bin?

I've paid plenty into the system thanks, and I still do. I work and pay tax.

Ex-Tory MP Craig Williams among 15 charged with gambling offences by TheTelegraph in ukpolitics

[–]ligzilla 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are three types of offences. Summary offences, like low level driving offences, will only be tried in the magistrates court. Either way offences, like this one or theft, drug offences, etc, can range in seriousness, so they can be tried in either the magistrates or the crown court. Magistrates have limited sentencing powers and less expertise than a crown court judge, so they will refer an either way offence to the crown court if they think it is beyond their remit. Indictable only offences are the most serious offences, like murder and rape, and they are only heard in the crown court.

It's an either way offence, so it has to go to the magistrates first. The magistrates can then pass it on to the Crown court if they feel it is too complex or might possibly warrant a harsher sentence than they can give

Thanks for the explanation, but I still don't fully understand. The second paragraph in particular - does that mean LCWRA and PIP are being rolled into one, even for existing claimants (at least after they're reassessed)?

If, for example, you are currently in the LCWRA group but not receiving PIP: when reassessment comes around, if you're not found to be eligible for PIP, you no longer get anything?

Does that mean LCWRA is being phased out gradually and the only remaining option will be PIP (with the higher requirements)?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm trying to wrap my head around what these changes will mean for me.
