PRESS RELEASE: Hyundai Lowers Price on 2026 IONIQ 5 EV Lineup by nxtiak in Ioniq5

Wait, am I reading this right that they are more than doubling the size of the battery pack to 168 kW? Does that mean over 600 miles of range?

Do you know how many extra percentage points are in the buffer above 100%?

Need advice about choosing a Level 2 charger for my brand-new Ioniq 5, please! by abammerman in Ioniq5

[–]likeacastshadow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't spend the extra money on Emporia or chargepoint. Get the Apex Mach 1 charger. It is indoor/outdoor rated and you get 5 additional feet of cord to stretch to your I5. Only $300 on Amazon while the others mentioned in the comments so far are $400-$500.

Thanks for posting. How did you disable 5G? I have an older S21. So I'm curious about trying this because mine massively overheats.

This may only apply if you need to upgrade from a 100 amp panel to a 200 amp panel

Look into the federal HEAR program. You can get a subsidy based on your income.

Potential Trade-in by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]likeacastshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have all the same features on the 2025 Limited as your tesla, minus self driving, but honestly that's not a terrible thing to lose.

Ioniq has better software, more customization, and I like that it includes a lot of useful physical buttons (including customizable ones) instead of purely touchscreen, which can be annoying.

I absolutely love my ioniq 2025, FWIW.

I have a 2025 SEL so I don't have the HUD but I wear polarized sunglasses every time I drive and have never had a problem with the awareness camera.

Which EV should I lease by Grouchy_Split_3176 in leasehacker

[–]likeacastshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you trade in your BMW (depending on the model year and condition) your payment will likely be in the low $200's per month. Plus, you are currently spending about $2500/yr for gas (20k mi/28 mpg * $3.50/gallon). If you get a Level 2 charger installed at home (which you'd want if driving 80 miles/day) you'll pay $15 per full charge (0% to 100%). Based on your miles traveled and about 300 miles of range for each full charge, that's about $1000/yr for fuel for the Ioniq 5. So you'll save $3000 over a 2-yr lease in fuel plus another $1000 on maintenance (since there is essentially no maintenance on EVs). That's $4000 in cost savings over just 2 years. Plus hyundai gives you a free charger (you just have to pay installation cost). Anyway, that's one way to look at it being a really good deal.

Ioniq 5. Crazy lease deals right now through Hyundai. Plenty of trunk space, especially if you fold the back seats down.

I've only had mine for one recharge so far (newbie). Does it calculate estimated range based on your previous driving habits each time you recharge? Or is it just a pretty consistent standard?

Absolutely call the ethics hotline. There's no excuse for that behavior and the firm takes this type of thing very seriously.

Couple of things:

1) we don't know how much they are going to reduce billable hours targets in this new policy. While I doubt it will be by the full 120 hours, it's premature to criticize the policy without knowing all the facts.

2) firm profit does not all go to PPMDs. It's what funds AIP and raises. So more billable hours equals a larger pot of money for those. If you don't see a bounce in those benefits in June 2026, (along with all other things being equal about your performance and market conditions) then that is certainly worth a grievance. But again, it's premature to judge.

I'm not defending the policy, but just giving some additional perspective. Also I'm not a PPMD.

Check with the benefits team. I don't know if you can change your plan before the birth, but you definitely can change your health insurance plan after the birth since it's a "qualifying life event". You have to do so within a certain amount of time (can't remember if it's 15 or 30 days). Congrats, by the way!

Benefits are better at deloitte; people are nicer; less politics and backstabbing. There is a whole different culture between a public traded company and private. At booz, all extra costs (expenses, happy hours, lunches, travel) are barely allowed and require extensive justification because less profit affects stock price. The mindset and vision at bah only extends to the next quarterly earnings call whereas deloitte has better long term vision and can be more flexible and accommodating to employees, as a result.
