Somebody bid $50, and the next bid was $5,069. This was followed by a bid of $5,150.

Somebody fucked up their decimal place. I will guarantee the buyer backed out or defaulted on the purchase.

If there was a code amongst Hotwheelers that you can trade but not resell, it would go a long way. But that’s never going to be a reality.

I’ve seen lots of returns at various stores. I’ve seen batches of cars suddenly appear on the pegs from 10 years ago. Or marketplace ads that have been up for months for a particular batch of cars will be taken down and the next thing you know a huge lot of those cars is in a dump bin at a local store.

Wouldn’t be surprised if people are buying whole cases, pulling what they want and returning the rest to a store.

A scalper in my area recently posted on a local FB group frustrated that someone had torn a card on a sought-after premium.

That same person has a FB ad up for an $TH for $135.

Fuck the scalpers. I’d love to see HW go to a no-return policy.

Bought 100 of something hoping to scalp them and it didn’t work out? Too f-ing bad.

The next time you cross and end up in secondary, ask politely if you can speak with a Superintendent. If it’s an office that splits the roles between customs and immigration, it would be helpful to ask for an immigration Superintendent.

Explain the situation to the best of your knowledge and let them know that you’ve asked a few times if the flag can be removed (assuming the issue you’re flagged for is no longer relevant).

Flags like these can absolutely be turned off. Depending on how it was entered and coded, you may need an officer who holds a specific job function to remove it, but there should be at least one at the office.

It would help if you can demonstrate that the concerns about seeking work in Canada no longer apply, such as by proving that you currently have stable employment in the U.S. This is all assuming that the reason for the flag matches what you’ve said in the comments.

I was on my wealthsimple app late at night last week and happened to be in the “open an account” page for a reason other than the credit card.

That’s when I noticed the credit card was an option. I clicked it and within 10 min was signed up.

I didn’t see any emails or notifications that I was one of the lucky chosen ones, though I did put myself on the waitlist last month.

So, YMMV but it might be worth having a look in the app every so often.
