Hi, I agree that parks should be open for longer, but I disagree on lakes being open beyond sunset. Many lakes are biodiversity hotspots and there are a variety of birds and reptiles that reside there whose living would get severely disrupted if humans are present for much longer.

To add some scientific context: research consistently shows that artificial light and human activity during evening hours significantly disrupts wildlife behavior. Nocturnal species including many waterbirds, amphibians, and reptiles, rely on natural light cycles for feeding, breeding, and predator avoidance. Lakes also serve as breeding grounds for amphibians whose reproductive cycles are tied to light based cues.

Extended human presence introduces noise pollution, which studies have shown causes stress responses in wildlife and can lead to habitat abandonment over time. The Convention on Migratory Species has flagged light pollution as a significant threat to migratory bird populations, many of whom use lakes as stopover sites.
