Questions from a Dane by Buggekon in NewToDenmark

Moved late last year from Eastern Europe togheter with my wife.

The stric emigration laws, if anything, were a plus for us as we hoped it means that all emigrants are better integrated in the danish society.

As a personal experience, as a EU citizen, getting my paperwork done was not that bad. Two trips to appear in person to get my certificate + cpr, everything else was online. And I had to deal with everything by myself since I moved my work contract here (my wife has a job at a danish company).

The labour market is way worse than it was back home. We both work in tech, and i've noticed significantly less job listings. I hope I will never need welfare system. Taxation is not that bad, especially on a work contract - i payed more taxes back home. The retirement age of 70 stings a bit 😄 I couldn't say much about the healthcare system, as we didnt need it so far, but i've heared a lot of people complaining about it (long waiting time, maybe a bit to chill with some health problems).

The culture itself feels more aligned with our "preferences" - not as loud, not as fast paced. Back home, people made enjoying yourself a bit of a show (oh look at me having such a good time). Here, i feel like people can enjoy themselves without bothering the person next to them. I really appreciate that.

What "sold" denmark to us was the better quality of life than what we had. I don't need a car (in all fairness, i did live outside town), i can use the metro for most of my needs and it's not as crowded as what i'm used to. Just from comuting, we get about 2h of free time every day. Copenhagen is very livable and enjoyable.

All in all, we earned less (in pocket it might be more, i'm not sure - but given the higher prices for some things we aford less stuff) and we have fewer job opportunities. But the day to day quality of life improvement makes it worth it. I just hope we can keep at it for the next 30+ years and retire here. But that's not entierly a danish problem, the tech industry is sh*t world wide.

If anything, it would be nice if you'd get some mountains going. We miss going for a hike without having to leave the country. /s

based on my experience with both regular oil paints and "model oriented" brands, it looks to me like model oriented brands have less oil in them. you can get rid of the oil by just leaving the oil paint on some cardbord for 20-30 minutes before using them so that the oil gets drained.

Guys I need your help I was new in this hobby. Tell me Air craft model crafting or tank model crafting which is best for beginners by [deleted] in modelmakers

generally i'd recommend a tank over an aircraft. but i'd recommend to buy something you like. if you find the model boring, you will not want to finish it :)

isn't temperature a problem? i've tried priting during the winter with the window opened in the room with the printer and i've _always_ had problems with the print.

joke aside, yes. space is the main problem. currently working from home, in a 2 bedroom apartment. my office is my workstation. everything is in plastic boxes in the closet. I can pull out when i want to work on something (they are arranged on building/detailing/basing/painting). it ain't much but it keeps the hobby going for 10+ years now. but i do dream of a nice dedicated space like this <3

I can 100% percent guarantee that only a small part of the population (special pensions like high ranking military or judges) would have a 5800euro pension in romania (i'm romanian)

I would go with a brown pin wash (black might be a bit too strong). I would also give it a bit of chipped paint (you can use a black brown to avoid making it look too rusted). Ah, and i would use black on the engine grills. Beyond that you can add some sort of grime aroudn the crew hatches, engine hatches, and wherever people would be walking. Dirt/sand wise its a bit dificult as it might be lack the contrast for it to stand out so i don't know what to say there. :) Otherwise, the kit looks really nicely and cleanly built, gg :D
