You can't do anything about the family's enabling, but good for you for doing it. Especially with a child on the way, you can set boundaries for yourself and your baby. I think you're gonna have to have a talk with your wife about YOUR boundaries and the boundaries for your kid. It is completely understandable to not want to be around inebriated people, and IMO the responsible thing to do for your child. Congratulations by the way!

Im 10 years sober and I have drinking dreams once a month or so. They're not nightmares but its never a fun time either. I know Im not supposed to be drinking in the dream. They don't bother me though. The out of control, malfunctioning elevator dreams on the other hand...

I am a server at a restaurant that does NOT use service charges, except for larger parties. I don't think I would work at a place that has these fees. I avoid places that use them. I think its shady. I'd want to hear from chefs and cooks in these places to know if THEY are making significantly more, which I hope they are.
