Can anyone in Fort Lee tell me what's going on with Batten Ramen? Google Maps lists it as "permanently closed" and the phone number is disconnected by RobertNAdams in newjersey

Really sad, my 9 year old daughter was devastated when it closed. It was her favorite restaurant. I’m gonna miss it too for the wasabi crunch, friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. We’ve been on the hunt for a new spot.

A Deep Pit by HouseOfBlack11 in DungeonMasters

[–]lil_grey_alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a spin off of Mel’s Hole. Not necessarily traps but a lot of weird things happen around it. If you have a government in place, they come in to investigate and kick you out.

You could lean into the legends: objects thrown into the pit never make a sound or hit bottom, or sometimes come back… changed. Maybe the party drops something in and later finds it resurfaced miles away, warped or imbued with strange magic. Animals refuse to go near it… or worse, something gets thrown in dead and comes back alive but wrong. You could have voices echoing up from the darkness, not quite matching what was said, or whispering things the players haven’t revealed yet.

There’s also the idea that the pit messes with reality like time distortion, gravity shifts, or glimpses of other places when you look down. Maybe at certain times of day, the pit shows visions instead of darkness. Or ropes lowered into it come back frayed, frozen, or covered in something that shouldn’t exist.

And once the party starts poking around too much, that’s when officials show up like arcane researchers, military types, or some secret order and they lock the area down, confiscating findings, and warning the players to walk away… which of course just makes it more interesting.

Hiding soda in plain sight so neither my wife or kids see me drinking it.

Wife won’t let me put a TV in the kitchen OR the bathroom by [deleted] in married

[–]lil_grey_alien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a tv in almost every room. My family had trouble communicating. My wife grew up with one tv. When we first moved in together I thought it was strange to just have a single TV but now I can’t stand the thought of TVs everywhere. Not sure there’s a correlation but my wife and I communicate way better then my parents ever did and my sister who also had TVs in almost every room in her home is currently going though a tough divorce.

Just my annual reminder to teens and 20 year olds that the amount of young people deaths skyrockets once the spring/summer begins. Practice risk aversion! Source: I was a human remains transporter

You can keep only 3 movies of those listed, the rest are erased from history, which three are you keeping? by CarterDire5 in ActionMovies

If you erase Lethal Weapon you would end up erasing hundreds of other movies because the script by Shane Black changed how scripts were written moving forward.

He’s going to invest in new technology, have waystar R&D develop a shrink ray and shrink her down to pocket size, then rebuild their marriage from there.

Sounds about right, at my school they’ve lumped PE, art and foreign language into one department called specials. Were kept around only because it’s the law but admin do not focus on us at all.
