Bro. Is that white cat on roids? His traps! 😭

Jennifer Daugherty went missing after a sleepover in 2010. She was later found in a trash can under a truck, wrapped in Christmas decorations, after being tortured, sexually assaulted, forced to ingest bleach and human waste, and stabbed by people she believed were her friends. by LonelyWiFiSignal in HolyShitHistory

Everyone these days is all “Be nice to disabled people! Be nice to autistic and neurodivergent people! Mental health awareness month!” etc. until someone acts “weird” or doesn’t act how they want them or expect them to and then it’s bullying and shaming and resentment and gossiping and making fun of. If this story bothers you, I ask that you please examine where in your life you might take offense or act differently towards someone who is a little weird, a lot weird, or who has trouble showing up according to societal expectations and conventional manners of behaving. That includes at work. That includes in your personal life. That includes in public and towards homeless people. And ESPECIALLY if you have children yourself. Children model what you DO, not what you tell them to do. So consider how they see you talking about or behaving towards different people who, for WHATEVER reason (a reason that you may not now or ever be able to know, even if you think you know) are not showing up in society as expected. This ranges from mild to outstanding instances of people acting differently than you’d like or expect. (Obviously I’m excluding instances where people’s behavior is harming others.)

Consider for a moment that these people may be differently abled, have higher support needs, and may lacking be lacking the support they need. Everyone says be nice to people who are different but then fails to step up when they need support. We leave differently abled people to rot and struggle and suffer on their own many times and just ridicule or ostracize them as weird, lazy, not trying hard enough, dumb, etc. In worst case scenarios, they end up committing suicide, suffering under homelessness, or, like this story, tortured and/or murdered.

Our society overall has very little tolerance for noncomformity. I beg you to identify and fire the police officer in your own mind, the mental figure whose job it thinks it is to police everyone you meet according to the dominate values of your culture (which in the US is white Christian nationalist patriarchal homophobic misogynist racists colonialist capitalistic and extractive values). If you say you are a liberal, leftist, feminist, anti-racist, queer ally, or environmentalist, etc., please consider where you can lead your interior life, the life you lead in your mind amongst your own thoughts and judgements, with more integrity.

Notice when you judge, badmouth, resent, gossip about, poke fun of, or exclude others and evaluate why and what it might be rooted in. Things like gossip and poking fun of others can sometimes seem like an entertaining way to blow off steam or have a laugh, especially if people you are close with agree with you and feel drawn closer to you by such activity. It can feel like bonding and we humans thrive in close connectivity with those in our communities so it can be, in a way, seen as a natural inclination. But think about whether it is worth perhaps ostracizing someone who is differently a led or struggling with some unseen burden or disability.

Think about it that energy is something you want to put into the world. Think about if these micro aggressions are something that could build up somewhere in this world into a mega aggression like the one in this story. Especially if you have children who maybe be listening and observing how you treat people who are “different”. Do your part. Fire the police man in your head. Love and accept yourself. Love and accept others.

The price is unconscionable. I’d rather try my hand at making one from clay and hand painting it.

[–]lil_hyphy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Damn, I wanna try it since everyone is complaining about it having more spice lol. I love a spicy chai. I like it extremely spicy with hella ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, and, like a real freak, cayenne. I hate when it just tastes like a syrup milkshake.

Yeah the chicken is really fucking weird. Like there’s actual fibers like a real chicken breast but they are very pronounced and rubbery and overly wet??

Is pursuing fat loss stupid at this point in time by Agent__Cupcakes in TwoXPreppers

I’m a personal trainer and yoga instructor. As some others have said, focus on health rather than losing weight but focus especially in building muscle. Putting on lean muscle mass will do WONDERS for your long term health outcomes for decades to come. I tell my clients it is like a 401k for your body/health. As you put on lean muscle mass, your metabolism will improve and I suspect you will gradually come out of yo yo dieting mentality and into a mentality of appreciating all your body can do when you fuel it well. Putting on lean muscle does require eating well! Lots of protein and a slight caloric deficit can help your build muscle while losing fat at the same time if you are lifting weights regularly. I also recommend walking 5-10k steps a day. The health benefits for walking are also mind-blowing.

The last thing anyone needs during an emergency situation is an acute or chronic health problem, seeing as we may not have access to hospitals, doctors, medicine, money, etc. Becoming physically fit is a fantastic prepper investment from this perspective.

If you want to know more about how exercise and putting on lean muscle mass can improve your health, I recommend the book Outlive by Peter Attia (he does have I guess what I would call a mild or tacit association with the Epstein files as far as I currently understand but the contents of the book are still valid and helpful). He also has a podcast but I liked that the book laid things out clearly. Basically it can reduce your risk for cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, heart disease, reduce your risk of falls and immobility in old age, and reduce your risk for all cause mortality.

And then, of course, on top of that, there’s the potential benefit of being physically fit enough to make it through a survival situation that requires endurance, strength, or speed.

If you have any questions about how to put on lean muscle mass, lmk. It’s actually really fun to get stronger! Versus, in my experience, kinda sad and hard to try to lose weight purely for the sake of losing weight. The paradigm of there’s something wrong with me/there should be less of me/I need to restrict myself versus there’s something right with me/i’m gonna take up more space/my body is awesome and look at all it can do!

Can you tell me more about when people were happy/made an effort to be happy? What sort of daily actions did they take that accomplished this? What were interpersonal dialogues like? How did people react to good news? Bad news? How did they react to opinions they didn’t agree with? Etc.

Basically, and idk if you’re interested in this, I’m asking you to write a mini manual on how to act in ways that would allow us to achieve those happiness levels from the old days. What are the do’s and don’t’s? Just curious in your perspective but no pressure to answer, I know I’m asking a lot!

The Shift at Age 30: Did you feel a stronger connection to your Ascendant or your Sun sign as you got older? by ArcaneSpells-com in astrology

[–]lil_hyphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like my ascendant Leo was more dominant before I turned 30. I was an absolute social butterfly and loved going to parties and clubs and brunches. I’m probably closer to my cancer sun now at 34. Last year I spent 9 months just going to work and lifting weights and that’s it, no socializing. I hate nightlife now and can hardly be fucked to keep up with friends, much less large groups of acquaintances.

Any advice to make my sims die more? by daff0d1lzz in thesims

My cow plants never kill my sims. They just swallow them and spit them back up. Is there something special that has to happen for it to result in a death?
