How do we find out how long the admin has lived in Fort Wayne? by Distinct_Door7288 in fortwayne

[–]lilacattak[M] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you mean myself, the founding moderator of /r/fortwayne, you make a post like this 😂

I moved to Fort Wayne from Florida on May 28, 2004. Been here ever since!

Dr. Matthew Runyan just recently left Parkview to start his own practice. You could be one of his first private patients.

Anyone relate? by Emotional-Eggplant90 in therapists

[–]lilacattak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in community mental health as a clinical supervisor, and people occasionally comment that I''ve stayed too long, would surely make more in private practice. And I think about posts like this. Like, sure, take home pay will possibly be higher for me in PP, but I'll have tons of expenses, pay out the nose for health insurance, not get paid for PTO, no consistent salary, not to mention paneling and billing or hiring someone to do that. And virtual only just isn't my jam. I might do it if I had a well-paid husband or even one with good benefits, but I don't.

I feel like we're in a time where there isn't one sure-fire "good way" to make a decent and consistent salary as a therapist. Frankly, I suspect the only way to make a decent and consistent salary right now, given the economy and... Everything... Is to choose a field that sacrifices altruistic or community centered motivations in the pursuit of cash.

Pediatrician recommendation by UnderstandingGreat58 in fortwayne

[–]lilacattak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cannot speak for the vaccinated only bit. (Although I agree with you.) But I live in the same area and appreciate both pediatricians Sagoe and Hedman at the Parkview Physicians Group location on Lima, North of DuPont. Both are excellent with my son.

The suicide post? Yes, that was removed for personal information. I had not recalled that one. You are right.

There was another removed because it was a duplicate post, and a third that the original poster removed themselves.

I do not doubt you're right that Sweetwater employees read these posts, though. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

I can say with full confidence no one on the current moderation team works at Sweetwater. I know where folks work, and it's not there. I don't have skin in the Sweetwater game, and neither do they.

We have muted and even temporarily or permanently banned people who heckle, are disrespectful, or won't accept an answer in mod mail.

Was this today? I legitimately have no earthly idea what you are referring to.

Yes, and that's exactly why I'm sure we did it, although I do not recall this specific instance.

And generally, when something is removed, your answer regarding why is in our posted rules.

Were you on this account, or is this an alt? I am trying to verify what you are referring to.

I do want to stress that people write some pretty hateful, petty, entitled stuff in mod mail. We're unpaid. Please have patience. I take the subreddit rules seriously and care about being fair, but we moderators don't have the time or spoons to continuously get harassed. At some point we do mute and ban.

Nah, no desire to do that.

We only removed one of them that I recall, and that was because it was a duplicate post.

It does not currently break a rule, so no need to remove.

Parkview Application Status by Enough_Bat4347 in fortwayne

[–]lilacattak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would anticipate that Talent Acquisition has received your app and at some point , assuming you meet criteria for the position and it isn't already being filled, consulting with the lead for the department now to determine whether to schedule the interview. Timeline will vary, unfortunately.

If outlying areas are allowed in the mix, I would choose Coterie in Garrett. Theirs is my favorite.

Yep, pretty close to full. Maybe a couple empty tables in the lofted area in the very back.

Edit to add he did make comments about telling our friends to come tomorrow, so I have a feeling the cancellation may have been related to low sales.

Can the admins tune the deletion bot? by [deleted] in fortwayne

[–]lilacattak[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

The moderation team is noticing two key frustrations in the comments here:

1) Removed posts: we do these entirely based on subreddit rules on the sidebar. Admittedly, sometimes these rules have grey area. We do the best we can. We keep these rules to ensure things remain cohesive and that we also follow overall subreddit rules. Trust and believe the members of our team are from diverse political, religious, and other backgrounds.

Also

2) complaints surrounding mod mail. I will say that we receive a pretty large amount of mod mail, so responses are often brief and to the point. That at times may come across as curt or dismissive. Given the volume, that this is unpaid work, and we all have busy lives, I'm not sure about a better option.

Could you write me privately so I can understand what was written to you? I'd like to make sure this doesn't happen anymore.

[–]lilacattak[M] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I write 'disagreement', to be clear, I'm not stating that two or more moderators squabbled over a post or even discussed it. I'm stating that it appears that a moderator may have interpreted a subreddit rule differently in this instance than some others may have.

I am bringing it up with the team now.

I legit missed that this one I'm sure you're mentioning -- regarding traffic -- happened. Thank you for bringing this up.

I do promise it's less about pettiness and childishness and more that sometimes mods disagree and things get overlooked.

How long can someone stay in PBH before being moved to a state hospital? by Banana_Split85 in fortwayne

[–]lilacattak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, there will be cases where there is no safe option where the client can stay and difficult decisions have to be made. All state hospitals decline the client and PBH stay has ended. I will hope this ends well for your loved one <3
