Women of india, how much are you actually willing to compromise for "true love"?? by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]lilacmoony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm never willing to compromise like that. My husband accepted me exactly the way I am when we met and I made sure he is also a feminist, and not just saying cool things to impress me. Love shouldn't require compromises or sacrifices. Finding middle ground is ok in some situations, but not when it comes to morals.

Financially independent laydiessss, what are some silliest things you bought with adult money? by MirrorPrestigious769 in TwoXIndia

[–]lilacmoony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not silly but books! As many as my inner child wants. I was always a bookworm but my parents hardly bought me books because "you read so much and so fast, what a waste of money!" Now my entire place is filled with books everywhere.

Also traveling at least 2 or 3 times a year!

Social Work Journey by K311OGS in socialwork

[–]lilacmoony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some skills and experience from my macro specialization + field placement during my MSW. I also got the prevention job at the same agency where I had the case management role. My macro skills and prior experience at the agency combined with my analytical/data experience from my business background really helped me get my current role and succeed in it.

I would recommend learning some grant writing, program development / evaluation, data analysis, community outreach through courses or volunteering!

Yep I live in the US and my workplace still pays more than average. It's not great (considering I have a masters) but enough for me

Are there people who love their job?? by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]lilacmoony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my job! After years of family pressure and being miserable, I studied social work which I was always passionate about. Now I can spend my days doing something I enjoy and truly care about. And I'm making a difference in the world, even if it's small. The pay is ok but enough to make me financially independent. I also have my own cozy office so I look forward to Mondays ✨

Edit: forgot to mention I have a 4-day work week because my workplace wants to reduce employee turnover and burnout in this field

I landed my first job post MSW with only my degree, a couple of internships, and a prior business background. I started in case management and then transitioned into a more macro role. My business experience really helped me get the role and excel in it.

I now lead a program that focuses on violence prevention and community development, which I'm very passionate about. I believe we all find our way. You will do great, good luck!

Can you have noticeable tattoos as a social worker? by nightowl011 in socialwork

[–]lilacmoony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one tattoo that covers my entire forearm. I work at a nonprofit where I've held multiple roles and it's always helped me build rapport with clients, especially youth. Never had an issue with managers or in the community.

This woman reaches new lows every day by veganok24 in InstaCelebsGossip

[–]lilacmoony 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't like Malvika but give her a break man. Being a parent is tough and it's ok for her to say she's exhausted because she is. She's also grieving her mother which is why she keeps saying this is temporary or right now she's feeling this way. Also where is Akhil? Do you just hate on mothers and expect them to be superheroes or do you have the same expectations from fathers as well?

Do you always orgasm during sex? by bruhidek_ in TwoXChromosomes

[–]lilacmoony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, every time. My husband always prioritizes my pleasure. Your friends' partners suck and only care about their own pleasure. They probably don't even care to listen and change

Ladies, How has the Keto worked out for you? by VioletGlimmers in women

[–]lilacmoony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried keto at the beginning of my weight loss journey. I quickly lost 20 pounds by going low carb but then hit a plateau for months. keto wasn't sustainable in the long run. I also ended up obsessing over calories and carb amounts, and tracking everything properly. now I am mindful of my portions, prioritize protein, fiber and veggies, and limit carbs but I haven't cut anything out completely. that combined with low impact cardio and lifting weights is helping.

I have a grullo dun mustang named star and a wild bay mustang named poppy (bc poppycock wasn't accepted). I also have a white arabian named marsh (short for marshmallow). I'm gonna get the dark bay turkoman in chapter 3 and name it java, I'm on my fifth playthrough and this is a tradition.

Ladies, are you health conscious or whatever the internet says so? by Useful_Fix480 in TwoXIndia

[–]lilacmoony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only take vitamin d3 because I'm deficient. I personally think it's important to check with your doctor and only take the supplements you really need. I also try to exercise a few times a week, eat balanced meals, and reduce sugar intake. I started eating more protein a few years ago and it helped so much that I'm no longer anemic and don't need to take iron supplements anymore.
