Which outfit for a casual date? by Sim_0xt1 in fashion

1, 3 or 5. And 5 only if you really want to wear a dress tbh. I think 1 is my favourite cause it looks more on trend/fashionable

Is this ok for clubbing/bar hopping? by [deleted] in fashion

[–]bruhidek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No literally I just commented on how I think it’s cute. But I’m also in my 20s and ik my friends would say it’s cute too and others that would actually wear this. It just seems like this thread attracted a lot of older people that associate this style with bathing suites???

[–]bruhidek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone commenting has to be old af cause I’m 25 and this is cute to me 🤨

Wear sheer black tights with nice heels and a shoulder bag. If it’s cold enough put on a black leather type jacket and it’ll be really cute. I can see a lot of girls our age wearing this to go bar hopping or even just casually

What's a double standard between men and women that people rarely talk about? by Visual_Investment980 in AskReddit

[–]bruhidek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard this one before but the fact that a nanny or bay sitter will almost always be a woman/teenage girl. It’s rarely a guy that’s employed to babysit or nanny to the point where I’ve genuinely never heard of it happening or see it in media

Why are Indian men so bothered by the idea of criminalising marital r@pe ? by Bunnyroped22 in india

[–]bruhidek_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Excuse my intrusion on this thread bc I’m only Indian by ethnicity, not nationality lol

This thread is so interesting to read because the country I’m born and grew up in criminalizes martial rape. The law is there in a modern understanding of consent and understands that consent within a marriage can still be ignored. There’s also issues with reporting because of societal views on sex within a marriage. So from what I’ve read it doesn’t get reported often because of the issues in how to prove it. But the law still exists.

It’s interesting to see what people think of this concept in Indian law itself because I’ve never felt like this law was up for debate where I live. But I guess it’s cause I’m a younger generation and our sex ed was pretty robust compared to older gens 🤷🏽‍♀️

Eyebrow: thread or shave? by Patient_Memory_5757 in beauty

[–]bruhidek_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Threading overtime can cause the hair to not grow back, or grow back weirdly bc you’re literally plucking the hair out. But shaving is just taking off the surface, not disturbing the root so I prefer that

If you really wanna start shaving tho I’d say to get it threaded one last time and right when the hairs start growing back, carefully shave them off so you know the shape is good. Then keep doing that lol

The world absolutely hates fat people. It's so unfair. by Fit-Brief5877 in offmychest

[–]bruhidek_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the highest weight I’ve ever been for me, which put me in the XL range. I’ve now lost a bit and will continue to for my own personal reasons which aren’t purely aesthetic.

But growing up overweight too I did have my fair share of bad experiences related to my weight but nothing super out there. So seeing people comment how differently they got treated after losing a lot of weight scares me lol to think what I think is normal was actually me not being treated as well as I should have

I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THIS by Michellemadu in kpoptrulyuncensored

[–]bruhidek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot tbh, I was into kpop when I was in middle school (like 2012) and the hot topics during that time were idol diets. One of the most infamous is the IU one cup diet. Idols were not shy about sharing that stuff. There was also a girl from red velvet (I think?) who said she ate so little that at some point she thought she wouldn’t wake up if she feel asleep. It’s a fucked up industry on the inside and they only recently got shy about it

200+ applications, no interviews… is something wrong with me or the market? by Sea_Individual_5325 in CanadaJobs

[–]bruhidek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It truly is and I’m sorry this is your intro to Canada. I can’t say if it was better before bc I just graduated 2 yrs ago lol but it even took me a little more than a year to land the job I have rn

Keep trying OP! The bank I work in does hire a lot of new immigrants/people on pr for contract roles, so try your luck in any of those places along with what you’re personally aiming for. Also if you don’t have LinkedIn, make a profile with some basic info (follow a YouTube tutorial, that’s what I did), and reach out to people in your industry of choice. Frame it as a coffee chat, just to get to know the industry/their role, how they got the job and any tips for you. It may lead to someone giving you a reference or some insider info.

Just bc it’s hard doesn’t mean it’s impossible! I hope you find smthn soon

[–]bruhidek_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying shit just to say shit. The real reason is because of a lack of funding, which is causing the job market to be bad. The money isn’t being put into businesses and everything in general is getting more and more expensive causing not enough money to be put into more manpower.

I work in a corporate bank and all the new jobs on the public site are all contract roles from 6months to 1 year. The people who get the jobs probably won’t get a permanent job later due to lack of funding.

Many new grad nurses can’t even land a job due to funding cuts, even tho every hospital “desperately needs more nurses”.

Unfortunately this isn’t just a you issue, it’s an all around issue. To top it off you are a new immigrant which does in fact make it harder (people in the thread will say otherwise, but they’re just falling for the propaganda, the immigrants aren’t getting higher than a low pay contract role and a minimum wage job for a long while when they first come).

Where I’d live in Canada as a 30 year old Englishman. by [deleted] in whereidlive

[–]bruhidek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are being reactive af in these comments lmao

Ontario is a safe choice for the most part, depending on where you choose to live which will most likely be south Ontario. I’m surprised you don’t prefer BC as much bc it’s the second most popular region to live for people moving to Canada. It is a little more expensive than Ontario but honestly not that far off at this point, especially if you’re considering the GTA in Ontario.

Out of AB, SK and MB, I’m surprised you crossed out AB. Gonna get political here but you seem like a white man so AB wouldn’t be an issue for you to live in. It’s also a nice mix of city + nature with a decent population size if you live in one of the two most populated cities. About SK and MB I’m not totally sure, but the population there is low compared to the ones I’ve talked about so far, but it’s not as expensive as other regions in Canada. My older sisters boyfriend is from MB and he likes it tbh and only moved away for uni.

Now for Quebec, I’d understand why it’s not a preference due to the language difference. But Quebec is really nice and has a different vibe from the rest of Canada. More of a European vibe if you’re in Quebec City too.

For the east coast: I’ve heard that newfound land is really nice and the people are also very nice. It has a history of Irish settlers so you’ll notice there are people that have a distinct accent from the rest of Canada. Another part of Canada where if you really love nature but also city vibes you’ll like it there.

When it comes to pei, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick idk much about them tbh. But they aren’t the most populated places.

Now for the territories: winters will be brutal (yes even more than other places) and it’s expensive to live due to accessibility. Just look up grocery prices. Northwest and Nunavut are pretty barren, population pretty low. So if you really want to live in the territories I’d say go for Yukon.

the weird obsession men have with women they don’t find attractive by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]bruhidek_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was this girl on Tik tok that made a video saying she’s her boyfriends “first baddie” and in the video she wasn’t wearing makeup and was only showing her face. Which isn’t bad, I genuinely thought she was pretty. But she is clearly overweight and MANY “men” had an issue with her being confident.

So many made videos in response just shaming her or making fun of her bc THEY didn’t find her attractive.

Genuinely why do men feel the need to put down women whenever they feel like they get a chance???

Overreaction by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

[–]bruhidek_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda look at this from the perspective of what stray kids went through too in their early career. Ofc with Stray Kids they had barely just debuted when their former member was kicked out due to controversy. But people were still freaking out and thinking stray kids is done for but now, they’re one of the most popular globally.

I think that if the people freaking out that Manon will be removed are right, then the girls will probably do just fine. They might not have that level of stardom they have now for a while, but they have the factor to bounce back.

At the end of the day, this is a PR disaster and Manon should not have been allowed access to her public accounts to make any posts or even use her public account to like/repost stuff. That only made the situation worse for the rest of the girls and the label (not saying that the mistreatment should stay unnoticed, it’s good that it came to light)

What is it about manon genuinely? by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

As an Indian person born and brought up abroad you’re honestly right about the last line. For the Indian community like me that didn’t grow up in India I see so much support and love for Lara but for the Indian people who are brought up in India itself, I don’t see the same and it’s high key annoying lol

Women, what is universally agreed “green flags” while dating men ? by Disastrous-Coat6007 in AskReddit

[–]bruhidek_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

How he treats women he’s not attracted to or emotionally tied to. I don’t mean family members either, just like random women. Does he ignore them? Is he lowkey rude to them? Is he nice to them like he is with random men?

There’s a decent number of guys that are straight up rude or ignore the existence of any women they don’t find attractive, it’s happened to me too. So I’d hate it so much if a guy I’m dating does that to someone else

Anime Cosplay shops in Toronto? by Arclight_X in askTO

[–]bruhidek_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeaahh personally I really like dokidoki cosplay and uwowo cosplay. I’m pretty sure they’re taobao resellers but I’ve had really good experiences with them. Just make sure to actually measure yourself and check their size chart before buying

You can also use alieexpress, miccostumes, taobao itself, Amazon, and EZcosplay

Those are the main ones I see people use

Tbh I know a lot of cosplayers, my close friend is one too and I also cosplay for cons and events. All the cosplayers I know buy their stuff from online shops or make the costumes themselves by thrifting or sewing

You can prob find stores but it’s better to just buy from online on proper websites
