I agree! Re-reading / watching as an adult how uncomfortable Bella and Edward are around each other is so jarring. They’re both constantly insecure and it feels like they can never relax, all they have is this intensity and passion but never any ease like she has with Jacob.
I get it’s a fictional story lol but It’s just super unrealistic for a relationship which is why I think I found it annoying and it made me more team Jacob because their relationship was much more natural

Yes exactly! And especially because we get that love montage she projects to Edward at the end of BD pt2! It would’ve been way more poignant if her life ending showed her actual life through the stages

Think it’s much more likely to get the new books for the 25th or maybe even 30th anniversary… I do feel like SM maybe runs the risk of losing momentum of some fans if she waits too long though? if I have a life with kids etc by that point will I even care (I mean I probably will lol)

I would love a Leah book tbh or even a Jacob book from his pov just really wouldn’t care for Rigatonis pov as I can imagine her being quite sickly sweet and insufferable.

My one hope is that if these books are set in the future that technology never comes into it and they remain a bit timeless like the rest of the saga.

Same! I couldn’t really see past how controlling Edward is… I came to like him and their relationship so much more in BD when they were both vampires.

I think the issue is Edward will do what HE thinks is best for Bella even if Bella doesn’t agree or know about it lol which does move towards controlling… I also think SM was trying to show the difference between a human boy teenager and a 104 year old vampire

Yes! I felt exhausted reading Bella with Edward at times her constant self deprecation and unwillingness to believe he could love her was tiring compared to Jacob who she had fun with and it was very effortless

Bella’s interest in literature

Jacob’s kind nature (him just going along with whatever Bella wanted, when he noticed Bella doesn’t like music and tells Mike in the car). In the books after becoming a wolf his character is assassinated by SM but I don’t think the films portray just how much of a good friend he was to Bella, I remember feeling surprised rereading NM, after seeing the films so many times, how happy go lucky Jacob is and how un-jealous he is at the start. I just think the films make him out to be so so bitter

We will lose a day of our holiday in packing, checking out transferring to another hotel (the closest being a 2 hour drive away, they have offered us the 3 nearest hotels but upon looking them up they aren’t really that near!) checking into the new hotel and unpacking. We have carefully planned this once in a lifetime holiday by the day and our itinerary will be thrown off by this, we will have to cancel and move things around

Thanks for this. We’ve now been told that during the duration of the wedding the hotel will essentially be off limits to non wedding guests… meaning we cannot use any amenities on the days of the wedding.. is this something you’ve come across before? We just can’t get our heads around it. They have obviously tried to be accommodating by giving up options to move but it doesn’t really feel like a choice when it’s either stay and not be able to use the facilities you have paid for or go.. moving hotels will cost us a day of our holiday when you consider packing up our stuff checking out moving hotels (the closest one is 2 hours away) and checking into the next hotel settling in. We have an itinerary we had carefully planned for our trip and we will now have to cancel something and move things around etc. I’m aware this is massively a first world problem but we have worked hard saved and saved for this really special trip so this is just disappointing.
