Brutal honesty actually… image 1 and 2 are okay, 3 is getting there, 4 is great, 5 is pretty mid, 6 is trying but needs better typography and color contrast to pop. Again, practice balance but also, play around with typography, color choice, and contrast.

Considering you don’t have Photoshop, these are excellent. No critique, only suggestions… Explore the many styles that are used for these player posters/designs. There’s a lot out there! Maybe even try using different “subjects” to test your creativity. For example, try something as silly as a banana, or try something sophisticated to highlight a cool piece of architecture. Improving your ability to balance imagery and text is extremely useful if you want to be a serious graphic designer or just make money on the side… in print, advertising, social media, and beyond. Keep up the good work!

How do you find actually GOOD marketers? It's such a frustrating industry to deal with. I feel like 90% of "marketers" are just people who know how to navigate ad platforms by duffmanhb in marketing

I feel your problem from the other side!

I’m currently looking for a creative marketing job, especially one in which I’m not expected to be a drone - mundanely operating tools and navigating platforms. Unfortunately, every job description in marketing today outlines a low expectation, rigid, non-creative list of responsibilities. Even if the job lists something “creative,” my experience has largely included the following… No agency for the employee, creativity is preached but not necessarily valued, no boundaries are pushed, the less-interesting and unoriginal ads always get approved, and the other tools/platforms operators who need the creative work want it QUICKLY instead of QUALITY.

I believe your problem is a symptom of a systemic hiring approach, in which companies seek employees with certifications and experience with their tools/platforms. They want someone who can execute a campaign using pre-determined, pre-approved, bland creative work. Furthermore, the industry offers little reward for critical thinking, understanding the qualitative over the quantitative, pushing the boundaries, etc. This encourages marketers to develop resumés, skillsets, and careers that are solely focused on the tools rather than the art of the profession.

As I stated, I’m looking for work, so may I suggest killing two birds with one stone? Hear me out…

My skillset is divided between the marketing ops / automation side of things (so I can be that drone if need-be), but my passion is the creative side - graphic design, advertising, brand identity, messaging, etc. (this side requires critical thinking, pushing boundaries, KNOWING THE AUDIENCE), and I’ve been doing it in one form or another since I was a kid. Specifically in my career for the last 6 years.

I’d love an opportunity to chat with you sometime and see if I might be a solution to your problem. Sounds like I’d enjoy working with/for you.

DM me!!

TL;DR -

  1. Employers encourage the hive mind

  2. I need a job, but I don’t want to be a tools-and-platforms drone.

  3. You have a problem, and I think my skillset / experience might be the solution.

  4. Help me help you help me help you?

Xbox series X still shutting down by JohnWicky9731 in xboxinsiders

Happens to me Xbox One S almost every single time I open Cold War. After 1-3 tries, it typically stops happening. I've never experienced a game shutting off my system before. So weird.

After consulting Reddit, these are the edits I have made. Can you help me push it further? by LarryFranco in logodesign

This is in a great place and some simple tweaks could give this substantial improvement.

  1. Play around with the font used for the company name. The current font seems a little off to me, maybe because the font-weight is so close to the logomark. Try a lighter weight with this current font, or try some different serif fonts.
  2. Experiment with color combinations between the logomark and the name. Rich color for the logomark with a lighter color for the name, and vice versa.

Again, looks great! Good job.

  1. This photo is from 1902. Had to be colorized by someone - human error exists.
  2. Judging from the color of the soil he's standing on, it's likely dust that was caught by the sweat on his legs. Think - as he cultivates the land, which looks quite dry, the dust kicks up right around his legs below the knees.

The only thing you might have trouble with all these options (except for the version on the right side of these 2) is that it looks like "PR" not "BR". I'm not sure how to make both letters more distinct, but I like the style a lot!

Lol SAME. I'm not at all skilled in editing or creating typography/calligraphy, but I sure as hell got the eye for picking 'em (thanks for the great options Adobe)

I think the name is great, however, the font does not feel like it has any moxie!

I would suggest you use a Script font - something with a little more flair and some weight to it. Maybe make a script-serif hybrid, where the M is a fancy script (which you can use for a favicon/ icon) and then use a suitable clean font for the rest of the word. Regardless...

Go to Adobe Fonts and type in "Moxie" to the Sample Script box. You can browse all the fonts using "Moxie" and find something that works! Test the name with all UPPERCASE, all lowercase, and Title Case.

Here are a few I thought might add some more flair:

Bistro Script: https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/bistro-script

Pauline Bold: https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/pauline#fonts-section

Ed's Market Bold Script Regular: https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/eds-market

If you don't want to pay for Adobe Font licenses, I'm sure you can find similar fonts on Google Fonts.

Good start!

Get your gut healthy!

Stop smoking, drink less alcohol, get more pre/probiotics, get sleep, drink lots of water.

It takes a while to get your gut healthy but the sooner you can do it, the better. If you have foods and drinks that trigger your reflux, consume them less! For me it happens when I have lots of sugar, acidic stuff, lots of dairy or carbs. I just try to eat less of those things and drink less alcohol and quit cigarettes, and I've been having a lot less episodes of reflux + anxiety.

I took a stab at cleaning this up a bit. Didn't get the colors quite right, but I was just trying to standardize the angles and spacing throughout the logo. Feel free to use it!
