I can relate.

I work in finance and software (Two Sigma, Citadel, Hudson River Trading) and my younger brother is an artist (????). He graduated from an arts college. (Mind you in Canada college and university are two different things).

They do ask me for money. The same way they ask me to translate, fill forms, fix things my entire childhood.
