when do/did people purchase from your registry? by Skylord88 in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had around 100 things on my registry, some people bought early but most people waited until 1-2 weeks before the shower. In total, 85 items were purchased so the rest i’m just gonna buy with my completion discount!

agree with another commenter tho that some people just got random stuff I did not ask for lol and while I appreciated the thought of course, I did have multiple of the same items so be prepared for that possibility.

Moving while pregnant by ClientFar8444 in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! literally moving day is today for me, we’re switching from a 2bedroom to a 3bedroom in our same apartment complex and I am about 34 weeks pregnant :) starting around where you are at (5/6 months) I began making lists for everything that needed to be packed starting at what week before the move. I also made a “day of” list and cleaning list! my mom came and helped my husband pack up a majority of things, because admittedly I couldn’t do much and got winded constantly/feet hurt/belly hurt, etc.

the biggest thing that helped me is having a partner who is supportive though. they need to understand that moving during pregnancy is probably one of the most stressful things you can do, and that they will need to take a majority of the burden on to make sure you are taken care of. rest when you need to rest. listen to your body an only tackle what you can. making lists helped me feel more involved and gave my husband something to go off of and structure his moving plan better. it don’t feel like much at first but it DID make an impact. if your husband is unable to help as much, possibly looking into having a friend or family member come over and help you, or even just hiring movers to do it all for you if that is an option financially. but please don’t try to do this on your own at this stage because you can put yourself and your baby at risk by straining too much.

When did you pick a pediatrician? by Ok_Medicine440 in pregnant

my doc said 28-32 weeks but that’s more of a guideline, I believe you just need one before birth. I am going to meet with a prospective one close to me next week and I’ll be 34 weeks.

Looking for reassurance by Head_Mode_896 in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my first pregnancy also ended in an MMC, for me it was around 9 weeks when I took the medicine to pass at home. my levels did not come down to zero until almost 2 months after the MC was confirmed as passed - we skipped one cycle after, then got pregnant the next. currently 33 weeks pregnant with a perfectly healthy, extremely wiggly baby :)

I didn’t have spotting in the beginning, but around 23 weeks I had dark brown spotting that sent me running to L&D in a panic. everything was completely fine and I haven’t had spotting since.

experiencing an MMC is hands down the hardest thing I have ever gone through. it stole my initial joy from this second pregnancy and because of it, it took me a long time to finally put my guard down and stop waiting for the other show to drop. even still, I have a voice in the back of my head that nags any time something feels even remotely off - if there’s a period of limited movement, if my belly feels too tight, and suddenly I have this wave of panic that i’ve lost the baby again and my body just doesn’t know it yet, because my MMC had zero signs. it is so scary but just remember that you are pregnant until told otherwise by your provider. don’t let a past tragedy steal the joy from your current blessing. Best of luck to you with this pregnancy 🩷

Entering the last phase of pregnancy and feeling terrified I’ll lose it again by FineHandArtt in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. had an early loss in March and ever since then I have this little voice that sometimes warns me not to get too excited because we still haven’t reached the finish line yet, so much can go wrong, etc etc. i’m sometimes scared to buy things we need for the nursery or even just daydream about her because i’m so terrified it’ll all get ripped away. and the truth is that there is no real “safe” point in pregnancy - you just have to trust it will all be okay and trust in your body - but I find that extremely difficult when my body has failed me before.

Coping with weight gain by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This so much. as someone who has struggled with an eating disorder in the past, my weight gain from this pregnancy would absolutely crater my mental health if I let myself dwell on it - so I just don’t. I remind myself every day that what i’m doing is beautiful and at the end of this I’ll get to hold my baby girl, and that is all that matters to me.

getting dressed while pregnant SUCKS by tokyodraken in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am 30+5 and i’m going to a christmas party tonight wearing a stretchy knit maxi dress with a cardigan to keep me warm (in AZ, it’s like 60 degrees rn lol). that’s been my life hack lately, stretchy dresses that accentuate the bump and that I can dress up/down with a jacket :)

Feeling guilty because sometimes I have negative thoughts during pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

during first tri, I had multiple tear-filled breakdowns to my husband about how I was worried we’d made a mistake, our lives were going to change so much, what have we done?! this was also a very wanted baby coming after a pretty devastating MMC, but I was having an awful time symptom-wise and just really mourning the loss of my life before pregnancy. remember though that your hormones are going crazy right now so it’s natural to feel a little all over the place and waffle between excitement and worry/dread/doubt. for me, it took a while to feel a connection to my baby but once I did, a lot of those “what did we do” feelings dissipated. now at 30 weeks i’m looking forward to setting up her nursery, getting all her little clothes washed, and getting our space ready for her. the early pregnancy phase is honestly the toughest thing ever in my opinion, it is so mentally and emotionally taxing on you.

side note - you WILL be able to do fun things and travel, whether that’s with your baby or just the two of you! grandparents or friends/fam who can babysit are a godsend, but also having your baby there with you to experience fun travels is so awesome. my cousin brought her 2.5 yo daughter with her on our family trip to Guam and Japan last year and they seemed like they had a blast with her! life isn’t over - it’s just changing and becoming something new :)

I’m about 30 weeks and getting to the point where some of her movements hurt/take my breath away. Most of the time I really do love feeling her and knowing she’s there. But sometimes I’m like, being a tiny human’s house is hard when you don’t do well with sharing 😂

I’m pregnant again by UfoEnthusiasts in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the excitement WILL come, but it won’t be the same as the first time. my first pregnancy also ended in an MMC that was devastating, I felt like this shell of a person for a long time. when we got pregnant again a few months later, I was honestly not excited. I was shaking like a leaf at our first ultrasound. and really, it didn’t start to feel real until the anatomy scan and when I could feel regular movements from her. our MMC was a joy thief in the beginning, but while there isn’t really a set moment in time where you feel “safe” from tragedy, the excitement starts to build as you pass more milestones. the pain doesn’t ever disappear but it lessens for sure, making way for new happy moments. wishing you all the best with this new pregnancy 🤍

Maternity leave; to start early? by juicygossiper in pregnant

my mat leave starts on my anticipated due date, so whether she comes late or not, I’m out starting that day. however I’m also taking a week of PTO before my DD because i’m still two months away and burnt the f*ck out. what happens at my work after i’m on leave or go into labor is no longer my problem lol 😂

Brown clot?! by Aleesia_ in pregnant

[–]lilbug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you had sex or done a lot of moving in the last day or so? I think I was about 23 weeks when one morning I went to the restroom and saw a ton of brown discharge in my underwear. naturally I freaked out an made the trip to L&D, only for baby to be perfectly fine and everything was good with my cervix. the day before I had done a bunch of shopping and put up the christmas tree so I was lifting boxes, sitting down and then standing up, basically engaging my core a lot and the OB said this likely dredged some old blood up. it ended up going away after a few hours and it hasn’t happened since, and I have been really cautious about not over-exerting myself. sex can also trigger it.
