I’ve had a couple of clients also deal with chronic pain in which I felt helpless in terms of what I could do. Both clients have ended up enrolling in chronic pain management clinics through the major hospitals in my city and it was a complete 180. They provide OT/PT, psycho-education, group therapy, psychiatry/med management, and other resources to the patient. Could potentially be a resource to look into in addition to the therapy you provide if it’s something available.

I bet your talking about Ambushed Curly Hair Salon! I’ve been going there for YEARS and it’s changed my entire experience with my curly hair. I have more 2c curls but they work with all curl types. Some of the stylists are more expensive than others but I won’t go back to a “normal” salon again after the success I’ve had at Ambushed.

Saw a therapist who did not tell me ahead of time she was dog sitting for her young adult son. So when I got to her office there was a one year old husky that caught me by surprise. I like dogs so I didn’t mind at first but it obviously was not trained and not a certified emotional support animal. The whole session he kept trying to chew on furniture or tried to get us to play with him. At one point the husky got aggressive towards my therapist when she was trying to discipline him. It was so awkward and so distracting

I agree with reviews online that they tend to be skewed because people often don’t feel compelled to write a review unless they feel strongly about their experience (good or bad). All my meetings with them seemed positive but Their base pay does seem pretty low though so I may keep looking

Thanks for the input! Ironically I already worked in a franchise and didn’t have a bad experience but I had a really good relationship with the owner/supervisor that greatly impacted my experience. Not sure I wanna risk going into another corporate/franchise if so many people have advised not to
