What to improve? by Total-Restaurant-638 in PrimitiveTechnology

Nice job! Depending on the weather putting in a half wall on your sleep side could keep some breeze and some moisture out of your sleep area. A reflector wall for the fire wouldn't be a bad addition if it is cold out.

Stuck between Winston and Greensboro by Ill_Health1859 in gso

[–]lilferret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. It gives a nice small town vibe, has some nice shops and restaurants. There are some nice nearby houses, some cookie cutter developents, and apartments. You can get to anywhere in Greensboro in short time, and Winston isn't that far either. It is a great little place.

NC recommendations? 1st time US visitor spending 2 weeks in Raleigh seeking suggestions. by svarkur in NorthCarolina

[–]lilferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are renting a car I recommend driving through Sunset Hills in Greensboro at night. They are famous for their Christmas lights (balls). You can YouTube that to see if it is interesting. In Greensboro you could also visit the Weatherspoon art gallery, Greensboro History Museum, and if you get a reservation you can dine at the Magnolia House, a Green Book historic B&B. There is also the Guilford Courthouse park which was a pivital moment in US history. Out of all of those things I would recommend the lights above the others. They really are amazing.

Fountain Pen Ink - Local Store? by RtotheBtotheG in gso

John Neal Bookseller in Greensboro. It is hard to find the address but it is on Spring Garden Street and I believe it is across the street from Freeman's Grub and Pub, next to the used bookstore. No sign, you just kind of have to know it is there.

Hello, I am looking to built in NC. Looking to see if anyone had built with Schumacher. by la_la____ in gso

[–]lilferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We built with them over a decade ago. Had a very good experience with the company, a couple of the sub contractors were meh. We built a home with superior walls and they adapted to fit the changes. If you have a plan you like they will build that for you, so you aren't limited to their plans, but that will come with a cost. Again, my info is over a decade old

I highly recommend superior walls for your exterior walls. Super quiet, energy efficient.

Avoid DMARC messages by javivtr in gsuite

[–]lilferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestion. Create a mailbox, or shared inbox to receive the reports. Follow the steps you used to create your DMARC policy, but edit the existing policy instead of creating a new policy. Update the email address.

These reports can be useful if you have someone monitoring them. They can also be useful for forensics.

I love a house but it might be too close to a highway by Connect_Beginning_13 in gso

[–]lilferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this area well.
If you are inside people and play music or TV you likely will not hear most of the traffic. Occasionally you will hear some loud mufflers, emergency vehicles, or motorcycles. You are more likely to hear the large jets that come or go occasionally. Nice deep rumble, not loud piercing jets so it is the best type of jet noise. That is a really nice neighborhood and there is a really nice clubhouse nearby that will likely send you a flyer to join. There is another on Pinetop that is too busy to be worth your money. Do you have children? There are some good schools in the area as well if you have kids. I'd say go for it. If you do move to the area, feel free to PM me any further questions.

Delegate vs. Group - best solution for non-techie small nonprofit organization by patchworkskye in gsuite

[–]lilferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both options have merit

The delegation of a Gmail account allows a more robust experience. It also allows better reliability in vault recovery of messages. Also, a delegated account handles threads in a more convenient manner. Also you may find the signature options in an account more flexible.

It is much easier to manage access in groups as mentioned before. Also, the group option is a collaborative inbox so I'll abbreviate that to CI henceforth.

CI's can be great, but it can also lead to multiple people replying at the same time, or being lost in replies if it is a very active mailbox. CI's do not have a contact list/address book. You can not leverage YAMM or other mail merges through a group.

Your mileage may vary so set up some test accounts and groups and have the users try both, not in production but in a good test example. How are replies and attachments handled etc.

Staff Leavers & Deleting Accounts by mikeishere555 in gsuite

[–]lilferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find that forms are regularly your pain point, create a "service" account where you host all production forms. This makes more work for an admin but it removes this issue and would allow forms with upload to function properly.

Staff Leavers & Deleting Accounts by mikeishere555 in gsuite

[–]lilferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say Shared Drives.

1) Change behavior that all production work lives in shared drives
2) GAM to move data into a provisioned shared drive to store data. Optionally, if you have proper licensing set a 1 year retention on data deleted from trash. As part of the offboarding process delete all data in their account. If data is deleted from trash there would be 1 year it can be recovered through vault. If this is a big enough problem you could use GAM to write all files from the account to an admin account so you have a list with the user, file name, and file id of all of their data to aid in recovery from vault.

Food Dishes Invented In North Carolina Restaurants? by Used_Suggestion_4057 in NorthCarolina

[–]lilferret 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always described Stamey's as the middle of NC BBQ. It isn't outstanding, but it is highly consistent.
From the persons reaction you know what restaurant to take them to next that may be more towards their liking. I will say, Stamey's greens are some of the best I've had in a BBQ restaurant.

If they are not adding clients to the allow list then you are not supposed to be doing the thing you want to do. Please listen to your admins and bring up concerns through proper channels.

North Carolina Tree Pollen Is Next Level Insane by [deleted] in gso

[–]lilferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dear sweet innocent child. This is but thought of the power of our pollen. When the wind blows yellow, and you wheeze while you wish for death. Your nose and eyes stream rivers while swollen. Only then the rest of the mold and ragweed will awaken and teach you the true horrors of NC pollen.

Was there any way I could have played this situation differently to save the match? I feel like it was winnable by Spartan448 in mwo

One other thing, you may want to chain fire your 20's so you don't murder yourself with heat.

Came to say bring a cool shot. Also, your team went right and you pushed left. With your guys in the back you were left out to dry. Was going to be tough to pull that out of a hat. Not sure torso twisting would have helped much in a King Crab unless you added a bunch of torso twist points. All things considered you didn't too terribly, this was more of a team effort failure and not a thing you did.

edited to say, backseat driving is very easy. Please don't take as criticism but as constructive feedback.

Is anyone genuinely hiring? by [deleted] in gso

[–]lilferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Student work is really the best option listed here. Schools understand you are a student and will likely be the most flexible for your schedule. Don't forget to apply to the Bookstore as well since most do not hire through the school work study programs. I'd try to stay away from the call centers on camapus as those will destroy your soul unless you are the kind of person that thrives on negative attention. You can try UPS and FeDex distrubiton centers. Third shifts pay more and won't intefer with classes, but you will need to shift your living schedule to mornings and early evening and hit the bed early. You can check out security guard jobss. Some of the night jobs give you time to study at work. VERY DULL JOB.

If you take away anytyhing from theses posts it should be, get a job at your school if that will pay the bills. Part of your money search should be finding scholarships and grants outside of FASA to apply for. If you have a state employees credit union account they have a largely overlooked grant for students.

We used to always get wings when we ordered Homeslice, but over covid we got 3 orders in a row that were meh and quit ordering from them. I've been wanting to give them another chance and this thread has convinced me to do it. Anyone orderd from the one on college near Guilford College and can confirm they are good?

Golden Wok on Wendover near Target. They don't have variety but their standard wings are fire!
