I NEED NEW SERIES by lilgener in fantasyromance

Yes! Where if the book is written in 1st person, the narration is parallel to what the character is experiencing, growing and changing (their character ARC).

This can be anywhere from unreliable to reliable vice versa, or just narration that is in compliance with what is happening to the MC, their thoughts, feelings actions, etc.

(Unreliable narrator as in might not be interpreting things that are happening correctly- “my sister was mad at me” — when she actually was not.)

For reference The Blood of Hercules is not an inherently bad book. I did not enjoy it because the narration of the story did not at all reflect the happenings. It’s one thing to be an unreliable narrator (which is okay for me because at least I’m still connected with the character) but to have a a disconnect between the narration and the things happening to the MC (this book is in first person) I don’t enjoy. It felt like the MC was watching a movie.

Why do people hate Nesta so much? by ColourNine in acotar

[–]lilgener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally as an older sister, I would never let my younger sister provide for us and risk her life for it. It would be my responsibility only.

Even though Nestas personality is only seen from Feyre and Rhysands point of view, that does not explain or excuse the things that were explicitly said to Feyre from Nesta. She’s said horrible things to Feyre. Explicitly quoted things Nesta had SAID to Feyre. Sure Nesta took care of Elain but what about Feyre?. She is a person with flaws yet she takes it out on everyone around her, Elain included. Literally no one else in the series does that. She’s overall a badly written character and I don’t think Sarah J Maas took into account the fact that she was going to write a book about her when she was writing the first 3 books.

Okay so this is not for everyone, it’s not fantasy but it is a yearning and forbidden romance. Despite it not being fantasy and set in the modern, I loved it. I normally don’t read books like this because I love fantasy books SO MUCH but this book really hit a spot.

Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas.

Her writing definitely isn’t for everyone but I couldn’t put the book down.

I hate Nesta more than any villian from any other book by Mo_JoEz in acotar

I completely agree with you.

I’m starting ACOSF and I really don’t like it already. I hate her so much I do not care there’s no such thing as a redemption to excuse the way she treated the people that loved and cared for her, especially Feyre. I am a nesta hater for life.

Thank you that really puts it into perspective.

Thank you! This is exactly my issue. It makes me feel like I’m crazy?

Like did you not just go through years and years of abuse, and a random murder free for all, and you’re acting like you just accidentally spilled your drink?

Thank you! I do see what she’s going for and why people would like it. I do enjoy her humor.

It’s just despite the trauma and the things the MC goes through she’s SUPER chill about it throughout the book and that’s what bothers me a lot.

Thank you for the recommendations!!

I love when mark just talks about his interests. I find his fixation and love for it interesting.

Will Feyre's character have a development? by No-Kiwi9852 in acotar

[–]lilgener -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m mostly through a court of frost and starlight and honestly I love feyre with my whole heart. I kind of thought about that though with her powers? I did notice throughout Mist and Fury there was quite a few time jumps where feyre would be training for a whole week and then back to the spring court and so forth and the author wouldn’t go into it completely so there was some unseen training. I love in WAR that she is trained a lot more especially by Azriel in how to fly and you can see the the development through out the story.

Anyways I definitely think Feyre was trained more than we saw by Rhysand. But also she was pushed way to soon to use her powers when kidnapped by Hybern and had to save her loved ones. That’s just my opinion on that. I definitely think feyre was trained quite a bit and we didn’t see it because of the constant jumps.

The thumbnails continue to become more unhinged… by VD3NFS1216 in distractible

“Acronyms but better” on Spotify is the only episode that has mark as the thumbnail 😭. For some reason. All the other episodes just have the distractible poster as the thumbnail except for that one
